When the next Xbox is revealed on May 21 could exclusivity of some extent for upcoming EA games be one of the announcements?
When the first rumor of such came back at the end of February most were quick to dismiss it. Since then certain developments have started to make it appear as a real possibility to consider. To date EA has avoided aligning future titles with the PS4 while apparently abandoning the Wii U. Their next-gen emergence will come either at the Microsoft event or at E3.
Kotaku today reported on the upcoming game from Respawn Entertainment, a new studio that was established by the creators of the Call of Duty series with EA as publisher, breaking the news that it will apparently be exclusive to the next Xbox along with a version for the 360. In the same piece another source makes the following declaration:Â Read more
The latest edition of the Press Row Hangout features myself, Rich Grisham from GamesRadar, and Owen Good from Kotaku. Topics include the cancellation of Tiger Woods 15, the choice of some companies to skip E3, the first gameplay news on Madden NFL 25 and whether the game is being marketed more towards the casual crowd, and then the panel responds to some viewer questions. It’s an especially relevant and timely show taking on big news from the last few days. As always leave any feedback on the show or suggestions for future discussions in the comments here or through Twitter at Pastapadre and PressRowPodcast!
Despite producing one of the best golf games in a long time with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 the series won’t have a follow-up next year. Kotaku reports that EA Sports has canned the proposed next iteration of the product for all systems but will continue working towards a next-gen focused Tiger Woods 16. Â Read more

E3 is now just about six weeks away and companies are beginning to make their plans known. Electronic Arts will be out in full force with the usual press conference on Monday, June 10 at 1PT and on the show floor with sports games including Madden NFL 25, NCAA Football 14, FIFA 14, and NHL 14 (no mention yet of NBA Live 14 or UFC). Two other companies though are approaching things differently this year.
2K Games won’t have any presence on the show floor which is a departure from the norm. That doesn’t mean one or more of their games won’t show up at the Microsoft or Sony press conference (and NBA 2K14 at Sony’s for PS3 or PS4 is a distinct possibility) but they are going without a booth for the event. Meanwhile Nintendo is skipping the traditional press conference and holding their own smaller presentations. Read more

Confirmation has come down from EA Sports to Gamezone via The Gaming Tailgate that NCAA Football 14 will not include the new College Football Playoff scheduled to begin with the 2014-15 season. This was fully expected to be the case but there were still many who wondered if it might be in for the second year and beyond within Dynasty mode. Now that question can be put to rest with the NCAA not allowing any form of playoffs/tournament in the series since 2001.
The College Football Playoff will certainly be made a huge selling point for NCAA Football 15. EA along with the NCAA are going to do everything they can to capitalize on the excitement that will begin to build next summer. Not only are many of the details on how the system will work still to be decided – making it realistically too late to implement – but putting the CFP into the game a year early would have gone against their best interests promotionally.
