Trailing behind the initial teaser trailer and first gameplay related feature announcements EA Sports has released another look at Madden NFL 25’s “Run Free” in action. The “Precision Modifier” will give ball-carriers the ability to make up to 30 different moves and string them together to create what EA describes as “devastating combos”.
The new video is unlikely to quell any of the concerns from those disturbed by the influence this combo implementation could have on the game. That the company is making a concerted effort to compare the abilities to Street Fighter is a topic discussed at length on the most recent Press Row Hangout and tomorrow’s Press Row Podcast. The examples seen here may represent some exciting moments but certainly don’t look natural or realistic. As always leave your thoughts and observations in the comments! Read more
EA Sports has released a new trailer for NHL 14 that puts the improved collision physics on full display. Bigger hits and more true-to-life collisions have been made possible by tapping into the same technology that powers the Player Impact Engine in the FIFA series and utilizing a new left stick control scheme.
Also to look forward to coming up for NHL 14 is news on One-Touch Dekes and True Performance Skating in mid-May and the Enforcer Engine in early June. Continue on to check out the trailer and leave any thoughts in the comments! Read more
When Madden NFL 25 was announced the Wii U was left out of the promotion. That followed the admission that Tiger Woods 14 wouldn’t be coming to the recently released console and even still EA has no games officially announced headed to the system in the future.
On the heels of growing speculation that EA might go exclusive to Microsoft in some form or fashion the company has finally confirmed that Madden NFL 25 will not appear on the Wii U. Nintendo World Report was able to wrangle up a statement after months of “no comment” responses to questioning on the subject. Read more
Michael Vick may have come up short in the vote for the Madden NFL 12 cover but he now has a game of his own to promote. Mike Vick: GameTime is out now for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad for free. Reviews are quite good for an iOS app of this nature with the fun factor seemingly resonating – though complaints regarding the pressure to make in-app purchases, ineffective scrambling, and repetitive gameplay are being noted as well. Pleas for additional camera angles to use in the NCAA Football series have finally been answered this year. Discussed earlier this month was the addition of three gameplay cameras to go along with the standard one. “Zoomed” and “Wide” were taken from Madden while a broadcast camera was mentioned but turned out to be something completely different. That all-new camera has wisely been named “Coordinator” rather than “Broadcast”. Plays will begin from the pulled back perspective and then dynamically move in on the action during a play. Read more
Last week EA Sports rolled out the first info relating to gameplay improvements for Madden NFL 25 along with a teaser trailer. “Run Free” provides enhanced user-control for the ball-carrier, the “Infinity Engine” has been refined for the physics system’s second year, blocking is said to have been worked on, and the defense gets another assist feature with “Heat-Seeker tackling”. EA also has proudly touted how users will be able to “string together devastating combos” with runner moves by comparing the ability to playing Street Fighter. An owner path for Connected Franchise mode also appears to be an addition based on the pre-order incentives.

Despite no consumer demand and continued missteps in development EA Sports currently still plans to release an NBA Live entry this year. Four years after publishing NBA Live 10 the company faces what appears to be a no-win situation in choosing between current and next-gen while going up against a behemoth in the NBA 2K series. Read more
