MLB: The Show has generally been one of the most difficult sports series to find a significant deal on even deep into the summer months. That hasn’t been the case this year however as it has dipped at multiple points to $30 or even below it. Today brings the best deal so far with Amazon offering the PS3 version for just $20. Best Buy also has the PS3 version online with in-store pickup for $20 and the PlayStation Vita version for just $10!
It’s unclear how long the sales will be active (it may only be today) so if you have any interest in picking up MLB 13 this year there won’t be a better opportunity considering the value mid-season while coming at such a low price.

One of the primary new features announced for Ultimate Team in Madden NFL 25 is the return of team chemistry. Four offensive and defensive styles will be available to choose from and players will fit better into specific ones they are suited for rather than if they are inserted on a team that has a different style in mind. Hitting chemistry goals will even unlock team bonuses. Today EA Sports posted additional info on how chemistry will play a part in the team building and card collecting mode. Read more

On the docket for this week’s Press Row Hangout are thoughts on the critical reception to NCAA Football 14, the inclusion of an NHL 94 mode in NHL 14, and which next-gen game we’re looking forward to most. With NCAA Football 14 having released earlier this week those who did not pick it up already have a couple options to consider if still interested in doing so. The Toys “R” Us promo continues through Saturday (today) with the in-store offer being a $25 gift card with purchase to put towards another item or items at a later date.
If that isn’t an option then it’s definitely worth noting that Amazon already has a lower price on NCAA 14. The Xbox 360 version is going for $49.50 (this offering has been back and forth with full price multiple times now so it will depend when you look at the listing) while the PS3 is at $54.51. Not bad for the week of release!
The 20th anniversary of one of the most revered sports games in history is being recognized with a place in NHL 14. The announcement of NHL 94 Anniversary mode though has brought about mixed reaction.
NHL 94 was last featured in NHL 06 and in that case it was the actual original gameplay. In NHL 14 the mode is essentially just layering the old-school presentation over current-day gameplay. The removal of rules and the ’94 control scheme were already options that could have been selected. That the mode will be offline only is another big hit to its appeal. Still the nostalgia factor is strong and even just the blue ice, stars under players, organ music, and including some of the legends involved in ’94 may be enough to make it worthwhile.
Is the NHL 94 Anniversary mode a letdown or worthy of the hype? Leave your thoughts in the comments and vote in the poll below!
