2K Sports today released a blog detailing more on Crews mode for NBA 2K14. The initial announcement hyped the “return” of Crew but fans of the mode quickly spoke out that it was not actually the case based on the info being provided.
The confirmation that Crews will be held in the blacktop environment with games played to 21 will be disheartening to those who had hoped for something resembling the original experience. An awful lot was being lost by moving to blacktop but not having full five minute quarters and instead playing “21” is devastating. “Street-style basketball” is touted – and no mention of refs or NBA rules being fully applied – though the difficulty is set to Superstar-Sim which could help create more organized and realistic gameplay.
While this will undoubtedly upset those who had hoped for the return of the Crew mode they knew and loved in NBA 2K10 and 2K11, at least here 2K has laid out the details before release when purchase decisions can still be altered. The company didn’t give consumers that much respect back when NBA 2K12 released when there was no warning that Crew had been stripped out and ignored the subject completely until a month later.
Whatever embargo there was on Path to Greatness mode for NBA 2K14 apparently was lifted today as multiple outlets have posted previews and videos. The story mode is centered on LeBron James and controlling him through a series of scripted future events. Read more

Audio PlayerThe roster update following week one of the NFL season for Madden NFL 25 is scheduled to go out on Friday for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. The update includes tons of ratings adjustments, new players added to rosters, season ending injuries reflected, and changes to player positions and team depth charts.
Notable movement includes Peyton Manning who is up to 98 overall after his record-tying seven TD performance. A.J. Green gets a point to move up to 95, Anquan Boldin goes up 2 to 90, Reggie Bush rises 2 points to 85, Robert Quinn climbs up 2 to 80, Julius Thomas jumps 4 to 80, and Terrelle Pryor gets 3 to 76. Josh Freeman is down to 79 after losing 3 points, David Wilson drops just 1 to 77 (-2 to carry rating), and Kelvin Shepphard and Oneil Cousins fall 3 to 73.
Check out all the changes through the spreadsheet released by EA Sports. Though not neatly grouped by team as has been the case in the past (would recommend searching team name and tabbing through the returns) the info provided here includes changes to all the individual ratings categories and not just the overall rating.
The judge in the potentially monumental antitrust case regarding college broadcasting, merchandising, and video game revenue through the use of unpaid player likenesses will allow both the NCAA and Electronic Arts to seek dismissal as defendants. The two parties felt they had a right to this due to the plaintiffs continuing to amend their claims (the latest by bringing in current players) and judge Claudia Wilken will grant them that opportunity in order to prevent a potential point for an appeal down the line.
