EA Sports today released more on the controls for NBA Live 14, performing the signature style dribbling moves for various players, and the depth of coaching styles and strategies. It’s all very good information that is impressive in the depth it will provide users but without showing everything in context of an actual game, and continuing to hold back looks at extended unedited footage, will likely continue to ring hollow for most. Read more
The roster update for Madden NFL 25 following week eight of the season is now available on both Xbox 360 and PS3. Check out the full details of the update in spreadsheet form here though unfortunately this week’s is not sorted in any discernible order.
Some of the big movers this week upward include Richard Sherman (+1 to 98), Calais Campbell (+2 to 95), Kyle Williams (+1 to 95), Earl Thomas (+2 to 94), Jordy Nelson (+1 to 94), Robert Quinn (+4 to 89), Andy Dalton (+2 to 86), John Abraham (+4 to 82), Marvin Jones (+5 to 79), and Kenny Stills (+3 to 73).
Headed downward are Tony Gonzalez (-1 to 94), Matt Ryan (-2 to 92), Ben Roethlisberger (-1 to 90), Brandon Carr (-2 to 88), Robert Griffin III (-1 to 88), Brian De La Puente (-3 to 88), Marcedes Lewis (-2 to 86), David Diehl (-3 to 77), and Mathias Kiwanuka (-3 to 75).
With only a matter of weeks until release of the PS4 and Xbox One much remains a mystery surrounding the four sports titles arriving along with them. There has been talk of features though not much in the way of actual details and glimpses of the games in action but so limited that it has created uncertainty in forming even the most reasonable of expectations. Read more
In the quarterly financial call this week Andrew Wilson, the new CEO of Electronic Arts, announced that 2014 FIFA World Cup is currently in development. That comes as no surprise but acts as the first time the company has made any reference to the upcoming game which is expected out next spring.
The World Cup games have been well received critically, helped to ease more inexperienced players into becoming fans of the yearly FIFA series, and sold really well worldwide. 2010 FIFA World Cup is currently still alive in The Best Sports Game of the Generation Tournament.
Though the company did not state one way or the other, the anticipation should be for a traditional retail release considering how well World Cup sells rather than a DLC release. The recent UEFA EURO 2012 was a disaster as DLC for FIFA 12 and it’s unlikely EA would repeat that mistake with World Cup which has wider-reaching appeal.
The Best Sports Game of the Generation Tournament has reached the Sweet 16! The closest contest in the previous round from Regions C and D was NCAA Football 09 barely edging out FIFA 10 while the biggest blowout came from MLB 13: The Show taking down MLB 11 with ease.
The round of 16 in these two regions features an early entry in the generation with Fight Night Round 3 facing a more recent one in NBA 2K13, the two most innovative football games of the generation with NCAA 09 taking on Madden NFL 13, College Hoops 2K8 going up against Tiger Woods 14, and FIFA 13 facing MLB 13: The Show. Make sure to vote in Regions A and B as well. Continue on to cast your support and leave any thoughts in the comments! Read more
Yesterday 2K Sports released the first in-season roster update for NBA 2K14 and following opening night’s action a second update has made it out. While the first one dealt primarily with moving players to injured status this update attempts to fix many of the incorrect lineups and rotations with a number of individuals moving from free agency on to their proper teams.
No player ratings have been altered. Only two players were added (Mike Harris, Hamady N’Diaye) leaving 23 still missing completely from the game. An update for Online Association has also finally been provided however given how that mode is for all intents and purposes broken there isn’t much use for it anyway as avoiding it altogether may be the best course of action.
The Best Sports Game of the Generation Tournament has reached the Sweet 16! While the four advancing from Region A cruised to victory, three of the winners from Region B faced serious threats. A total of over 51K votes were cast in the second round.
The round of 16 in these two regions features a battle between 2010 FIFA World Cup and UFC 2009 Undisputed, NBA 2K11 taking on NBA 2K12, arguably the two best football games in NCAA 14 and Madden NFL 10 going head-to-head, and FIFA 12 facing a challenge from NBA Live 10. Regions C and D will open for voting later this week. Continue on to cast your support and leave any thoughts in the comments! Read more
