  • NBA 2K14 Will Have Content Exclusive to PlayStation 4

In a new trailer today for the PS4 it has been revealed that NBA 2K14 will have exclusive content for the system which is due out November 15. There was no indication of what that might amount to but is another thing to consider – besides the possibility the game will run better on the PS4 than Xbox One – in making purchase decisions this month and going forward. It’s telling that even the NBA 2K14 developers are favoring the PS4 and that is something you’d never expect to hear publicly voiced since the company wants to sell the game on both systems.

EA Sports has their “strategic partnership” with Microsoft that so far has resulted in exclusive legends for FIFA 14 Ultimate Team and SmartGlass functionality with Madden NFL 25. Besides that it has just been a marketing deal. 2K Sports has a strong relationship with Sony going back many years and their own marketing deal. This exclusive content is just an extension of that but, like with EA’s offerings, probably won’t be anything too significant.

EA Sports today released the fifth and sixth uniform packs for NCAA Football 14 after a gap of six weeks with nothing. Each DLC pack costs $1 and unlike earlier ones these contain all jerseys and helmets rather than mostly being limited to gloves.

Pack five includes Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas A&M, and Western Kentucky. Pack six is comprised of Oregon, Texas, Texas Tech, and Louisiana-Monroe.

This is likely to act as the last support NCAA 14 receives. No longer having a development team following the cancellation of the series only the content that was nearly or already completed was going to be released.

  • EA Sports UFC Cover Goes to Jon Jones; Will Share With One Other Fighter

    ufcjonjones

Plans for a cover vote to determine the fighter that would grace the cover of EA Sports UFC were scrapped at some point since June and today the company announced that Jon Jones has been selected for the honor.

Jones is currently the light heavyweight champion and has defended that title successfully six times. He would have been a favorite in any voting campaign along with others like Cain Velasquez and Ronda Rousey.

EA Sports UFC is expected to release next spring on the PS4 and Xbox One. For information on some of the gameplay features make sure to check out the descriptions from this summer.

[Update] A second fighter will join Jones on the cover and that one will be determined (of course because it’s EA) in a tournament-style vote. Georges St-Pierre, Jose Aldo, Chris Weidman, Dominick Cruz, Demetrious Johnson, Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, Michael Bisping, Daniel Cormier, Junior dos Santos, Urijah Faber, Alexander Gustafsson, Benson Henderson, Johny Hendricks, and Chael Sonnen are all involved in that.
