It entered the competition as the favorite and exited with the title. NBA 2K11 is the community’s Best Sports Game of the 360/PS3/Wii Generation.

Despite being the overall number one seed NBA 2K11 didn’t just cruise to easy victories along the way. Surprisingly some vulnerability was shown as there were other games involved in the tournament winning by comparable or greater margins over perceived tougher competition. However ultimately no game was able to topple 2K11 which won the title over MLB 13: The Show with 59% of the over 6K votes cast.

Review the full results of the tournament here. Look for expanded discussion on the complete process that went into shaping the competition along with reaction and analysis of the results of the entire tournament on the next Press Row Hangout!

  • Next-Gen NBA 2K14 Rosters Now Outdated By Over a Month
    by

    nba2k14gortatemeka

While there has been plenty of justified grousing over the lack of post-release support – both in quantity and quality – from 2K Sports in regards to the NBA 2K series in recent years one of the advertised features for NBA 2K14 was “Dynamic Living Rosters”. The hope was that would bring an end to inconsistent and inaccurate updates. While the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of NBA 2K14 has gotten a fair number of roster updates (though not fulfilling all promises) the Xbox One and PS4 have yet to receive even a single one.

The current roster available on next-gen is well over a month old. The trade completed on October 25 between the Suns and Wizards, swapping Marcin Gortat for Emeka Okafor, has still not been completed. Gortat did not appear in a single game this season for the Suns while Okafor has yet to debut due to injury. The last transaction reflected in the roster occurred in mid-October.

  • Next-Gen NBA 2K14 Patch Expected Soon
    by
    Posted November 27th, 2013 at 1:15 pm 9 Comments »

    nba2k14theparknogames

2K Sports has taken to social channels to announce a patch for NBA 2K14 on the Xbox One and PS4 that will be out within the next week. The update will target issues related to MyCareer save files and connectivity problems with the new online mode The Park.

It’s uncertain if the patch will address much of anything beyond those two things including the high frequency of crashes being experienced by a significant number of consumers. Considering that the messaging was limited to just MyCareer and The Park it’s likely that not much else will come from this one but rather a necessary second patch down the line that will deal with more of the post-release issue reports and consumer feedback.
