Earlier this week NBA 2K14 received an update to reflect this year’s All-Star roster. Now the jerseys for the All-Star Game held on February 16th have been added along with the court for the weekend’s festivities. While they are available for Quick Games through the Xbox One and PS4 versions they will only be found in MyCareer mode on 360 and PS3.
The jerseys are similar to those worn on Christmas Day. They are sleeved and feature a large logo on the front. In another neat art change that no one would notice in the normal course of playing the game, the basketballs now feature Adam Silver’s signature as the new commissioner of the league. He officially replaced David Stern last Saturday.
There are some reports, most coming from the XB1 side, of the content not coming through. Also on both consoles signage for the Houston Rockets (site of last year’s game) is up throughout the stadium. Apparently this is to be fixed in a future roster update.
While there may not be many consumers playing NBA Live 14 it has been important for EA Sports to follow through not just on post-release promises but delivering a competent and enjoyable product to market. Those who gave the game a chance may not be so forgiving this fall when Live 15 arrives. It’s not just the goodwill of improving the game but demonstrating that the company recognizes its faults and may be in a position to rectify them while excelling in other areas in the coming years.
With that in mind EA released details today on the second patch for NBA Live 14 which is expected to go live on Xbox One and PS4 next week. The update will include a practice gym for shootarounds – the most inexplicable decision of all for the game finally being addressed – with hope of a more comprehensive tutorial and practice mode in the future. Changes to the lighting are being made so the players will look better but the player scans the company has been doing won’t be patched into Live 14.
Gameplay has been worked on with “responsiveness” being the key word. Improving on the delay seen in passing/moving/shooting/blocking would certainly represent progress. All-Star jerseys, court, and Adam Silver’s signature on the basketball will also be included. Continue on for the full descriptions of what the coming patch will address. Read more

EA Sports today officially announced 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil which will release on April 15 in North America and April 17 in Europe. In surprising news however the highly anticipated game will only release on the last generation of consoles. It will not be coming to Xbox One, PS4, or PlayStation Vita.
Shortly after the announcement EA made a statement addressing the decision to only release on Xbox 360 and PS3: Read more
The poll to gauge which of the five console games releasing through May were being most looked forward to was posted over a week ago and in that time the status for each of them has not changed. The most info out there relates to The Golf Club surprisingly, along with UFC which received a strong push back at E3. The Show carries over expectations but has not even solidified a release date. RBI and World Cup haven’t been talked about at all yet. Read more
2K Sports today released the latest rosters for NBA 2K14 and that includes those for the 2014 NBA All-Star game. While all the players are in – with Kobe Bryant there until a replacement is announced – the jerseys and court for the New Orleans event are not. Those are said to be updated later this week.
The All-Star Game jerseys are similar to the Christmas jerseys – sleeved and with a big logo on front. It was just over a week ago that 2K finally added the Christmas jerseys and a few others to the Xbox One/PS4 versions of the game.
Meanwhile NBA Live 14 has yet to update the All-Star rosters, jerseys, or court and EA Sports has not stated when any of that will happen.
