With just four weeks until release, and two or three weeks until the demo arrives, EA Sports has offered up the first gameplay footage from the launch of their UFC franchise. The video lacks walkouts but features introductions and a round of fighting between lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and Jose Aldo. Check it out and leave any thoughts on the footage in the comments!
Last week EA Sports got some of the features for NHL 15 out of the way in preparation for next month’s E3. Not having to rush out an Xbox One/PS4 version last fall has allowed them to rebuild some aspects of the series like commentary and presentation and consumers can recognize this first attempt on the new systems will benefit from the extra time put into it.
Based on poll results from last week there’s no consensus for what new feature of the bunch is most eagerly being anticipated. There’s essentially a big four with each receiving 20-26% of the vote. NBC broadcast presentation leads the way followed by “True Hockey Physics”, the new commentary team, and next-gen visuals.
That’s good news for EA who, at least with this first info for NHL 15, appear to have shown a commitment to improving the series in areas that fans have been requesting in recent years rather than trying to attract casuals with gimmicks. All the improvements noted so far have been received positively. Expect more on the game out of EA’s E3 press conference on June 9.

2K Sports today announced that 11 new Euroleague teams will be part of NBA 2K15. That will bring the total to 25 all with updated rosters.
The teams being added are Brose Baskets Bamberg, Budivelnik Kyiv, Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade, FC Bayern Munich, Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul, JSF Nanterre, Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, Partizan NIS Belgrade, Stelmet Zielona Gora, and Strasbourg.
Introduced in 2K14 with a multi-year exclusive agreement, Euroleague was represented by 14 teams. While it had the real rosters there was no unique style of play or atmosphere to the games. There also wasn’t a mode dedicated to them nor were they a part of Association, MyCareer or online modes in any fashion. For fans to get interested they’ll need to involve Euroleague in a more meaningful way for 2K15.
The news yesterday that Steve Kerr has been hired as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors will have ramifications for the NBA 2K series going forward. Kerr has been part of the commentary team since 2K12. Unless 2K Sports had planned ahead for this possibility, knowing for a while the interest he had in becoming a coach, it may be too late to switch him out of 2K15 in favor of someone else. Regardless, whether this year or the next, it will have to be done.
The poll posted two weeks ago on who fans would prefer replace Kerr, which has collected over 3200 votes, heavily favored the two most likely possibilities. They’re also the primary candidates to take over Kerr’s seat as the top color analyst for TNT broadcasts.
Chris Webber and Reggie Miller remained in a dead heat throughout the polling process. At one point last night a single vote separated them! As of publication they both hold 38% of the vote.
Interestingly both former players have been holdouts from being added to historic team rosters in the series. Fans are likely hoping should either end up as a commentator for the game, they’ll also sign off on having their likeness added to a classic team and/or MyTeam mode.
EA Sports has released a new video focused on the inclusion on Bruce Lee in EA Sports UFC. Following the initial announcement only a glimpse of him was seen in a video. In this latest one his place as an inspiration for fighters and what would become UFC is discussed, along with some highlight clips of him in action in the game.
Lee is a pre-order bonus available through all retailers and digital download. He can also be obtained by completing the Career mode. Though reaction to the news has been decidedly mixed his addition could help to boost sales by attracting fans and those who may not have heard of the game otherwise if not for the mainstream exposure it brought.
