Longtime players will feel right at home thanks to a nearly identical look and feel from previous games. When EA Sports announced a pre-release demo would be released for the upcoming UFC title the most likely date for it to settle on was Tuesday, June 3. Today the company officially confirmed that as the date for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 which means it lands one week prior to its showing at E3, and two weeks prior to the retail release.
The only additional detail provided on the demo is that it will feature the two cover athletes – Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.
Sony today announced details on the PlayStation Plus content coming to members for free in June. Among the games being offered is NBA 2K14 on the PS3. Subscribers of PS+ will be able to download it for free during the month and then keep it as long as membership is current.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 version of NBA 2K14 was quickly forgotten by 2K Sports, who moved all attention to the Xbox One/PS4 version immediately after release and never provided any further support for it. However some aspects of the actual game may have ultimately been preferable to fans of the series – particularly those turned off by the invasive VC integration in multiple modes including MyGM and massive server issues experienced on the new systems.
Last week EA Sports announced details on the World Cup content coming to FIFA 14 on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, 360, and PC. A separate Ultimate Team would be added for free on May 29 featuring the players, kits, and other elements of the World Cup competition with both online and offline tournament modes as the ways to play.
On the eve of the new mode’s release the company has announced a delay. The post on the official forum for FIFAÂ from a community manager cites issues discovered in final testing that necessitated being fixed prior to rolling it out. No new date to expect the mode has been given but they are “working hard to have the update ready to release in the coming days”.
Given that this is a revenue-generating mode, and one that is anticipated to be very popular worldwide, the problems must have been extremely serious for EA to hold off on releasing it. Time is money in this case…the actual World Cup is set to begin on June 12.

Last week the first gameplay video for EA Sports UFC arrived however it didn’t include any submission attempts. A new gameplay video featuring Ronda Rousey vs Miesha Tate offers that opportunity. Read more
In another clip from the most recent Press Row Hangout, the details of the free World Cup content coming to FIFA 14 on all platforms is discussed. What it is, whether EA made a good decision by having it as a separate mode, and if it is compelling enough to get us interested in playing. After the disappointment of 2014 FIFA World Cup not releasing for Xbox One and PS4 will this Ultimate Team mode partially fill the void for those who may have bought that game but still own FIFA 14 instead?
