The demo for Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 is out now on PlayStation 4 and PS3. It went live in a few other territories last week but was delayed until today in North America and tomorrow in Europe. It can be queued up to download for PS4 here or PS3 here. It was supposed to go live on Xbox One and 360 also but as of publish time had not.

KONAMI returns to the football field with PES 2015 with a return to core PES values. Thanks to the incredible FOX Engine, PES 2015 delivers stunning visuals and animation where the world’s greatest players move and play just their real-life counterparts, while PES ID ensures that the whole team matches their famed playing style. Close control, tackling, and the balance of play also perfectly reflect that of real football. Similarly, players can now use the new myClub system to develop an all-conquering side, building from humble beginnings to create a world-class XI. With all-new multi-player modes, real-life managers pacing the touchlines and new live data, PES 2015 does its talking on the pitch.

Featured in the demo is an exhibition match (7-10 minutes in length) with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, FC Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Napoli to choose from and played in the game’s Konami Stadium. PES 2015 isn’t slated to release until November 11.

When it was discovered just how much was missing from the Xbox One and PS4 version of NHL 15 EA Sports attempted to soften the blowback by laying out a plan to add in some features in the months ahead. The first of those features have made it in through a patch today.

    Playoff Mode
Play an offline bracket tournament with up to 16 teams. Use the teams from the NHL or create your own tournament tree by selecting teams from up to 12 different leagues. Play or simulate each game and track player and team stats throughout the tournament.

Be a Pro – Coach Feedback
After each shift you will get the coach’s feedback while you are on the bench. The coach will give you tips on how to stay on top of your game and grade you on your game play. Score high grades on Position, Team Play, and Stats to work yourself up the teams depth chart.

    Three Stars
At the end of the game, see the three stars and their stats.

    Ultimate Team
♦Updated layouts and improved navigation for HUT menus.
    ♦New animations for player items.
♦Improved edit lines screen that better identifies players that are injured or require contract extensions.

Sales are down significantly this year and patching in a few of the omitted features won’t do much to help that situation. It could however contribute in reestablishing a little bit of trust and confidence in the series to bring some of the people that were lost back next year so it’s important to meet or exceed expectations in post-release support. At this point the company has only specifically noted a Draft for Be a GM mode and basic Online Team Play to be coming at some point later this year.

It didn’t take long to start seeing some changes at quarterback. Just three weeks into the NFL season and the Jaguars have already turned to Blake Bortles. For some reason it took an injury to Matt Cassel for Teddy Bridgewater to get the nod and the Dolphins seem to be contemplating benching Ryan Tannehill.

Among those with especially strong weeks that could result in Madden NFL 15 ratings boosts are Kirk Cousins, Austin Davis, Rashad Jennings, Devin Hester, Marcus Gilbert, Will Beatty, Kyle Williams, Khalil Mack, Kyle Fuller, Kam Chancellor, Malcolm Jenkins, Brandon Flowers, and Jon Ryan. Names that you might see fall this week include Aaron Rodgers, Ryan Tannehill, Jake Locker, E.J. Manuel, Josh McCown, Bobby Rainey, LeSean McCoy, Montee Ball, Sammy Watkins, Justin Gilbert, and Eric Reed.

Injuries impacted a bunch of players with Danny Woodhead, DeAngelo Hall, Dennis Pitta and Stephen Tulloch all done for the season. Ike Taylor, Ryan Shazier, Matt Cassel, Jason Kelce, Kyle Rudolph, and Jarvis Jones will all be missing significant stretches of time as well.

  • FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Out Now on Mobile

    fifa15ultimateteammobile

The latest FIFA game for mobile released today and the focus has shifted even more towards the Ultimate Team model. FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is the official title and it can be downloaded here for iOS devices and here for Android devices. The game is free-to-play (of course expecting people to buy card packs) and has done away with many of the traditional modes in favor of concentrating almost solely on Ultimate Team.

Gone this year are Career mode, Penalty Kicks and Manager Mode. The game is now all about Ultimate Team with the exception of “Matches of the Week” while a new “Quick Simulation” mode will allow you to manage a match rather than play it. It’s been out for about a week now in some other territories and has been able to collect a lot of high ratings in user-reviews.

    REAL WORLD MATCH-UPS
Play your favorite team’s next fixture, plus 3 other major match-ups happening around the world – every week!

    BUILD YOUR ULTIMATE TEAM
Earn, trade, and collect superstars like Lionel Messi and Eden Hazard to create your own fantasy team. Choose your play style, formation, kits, and more.

    PLAY IN QUICK SIMULATION MODE
Put your management skills to the test with new Quick Simulations. Set up your squad, start the match, and watch it unfold. Make smart subs, tactical tweaks, and gauge team effort along the way. Your match results depend entirely on your ability to manage player skills and chemistry – taking authenticity to the next level.

OR TAKE IT TO THE PITCH!
Master your kicks, passes, and shots with classic controls – now with the “through pass” feature – or opt for new “Casual Controls” with fewer buttons. You can even double tap the joystick to enable tactical dribbling for closer control of the ball. Plus, if you have an external controller – don’t miss the chance to use it on the pitch for the first time.

NBA 2K15 gets the primary focus in today’s episode of The Daily Dish. First it’s the decision by 2K Sports to pass on offering a demo for the game, followed by thoughts on the concept behind the new storyline in MyCareer mode. After that there’s a plug for the latest Press Row Hangout which featured quite a few interesting topics and a look ahead to Tuesday.

All along it appeared unlikely that 2K Sports would be offering a pre-release demo for NBA 2K15 after passing on doing so with 2K14. That has turned out to be the case with Operation Sports getting confirmation that there will be no demo for the game.

The NBA 2K series is in a position where a demo may not be a necessity but the decision can still be legitimately questioned. While companies have started to move away from the traditional demo (MLB: The Show was really the first and there wasn’t one for Madden NFL 15 either) with the thinking that they may do more harm than good there’s still an audience that can be reached through them. Even the biggest selling series worldwide every year in FIFA proved that a few weeks ago as 36% of poll respondents claimed they’re now more likely to buy after playing its demo. NBA 2K is also perceived as an increasingly complicated game and a tutorial of sorts could have been helpful to those intimidated by it and unsure about a purchase.

Unlike the situation with Madden – where at least some people could try it before it was out through EA Access or watch live streams and hear impressions from those who could – there won’t be any opportunity for that with 2K15. The concerns that consumers have voiced most about the upcoming game though would be related to the VC implementation and the online servers and those wouldn’t have been been answered through a demo anyway.
