The face-scan technology introduced in NBA 2K15 led the way in terms of anticipated features for the game based on the recent poll. However as many are discovering now it’s a difficult process to complete – having spent over 30 mins frustrated by it I’ve just given up for now – and even those who have success the final product may be some form of alien creation. If you want to see the things of nightmares check out this gallery of grotesque face scans.
Were you able to complete a face scan in NBA 2K15 and if so how did it turn out? Feel free to post any pictures in the comments!
The big story in week five of the NFL season were the comebacks, which continues a trend throughout this season, and the Browns had the most impressive one walking away with the biggest for a road team in history after trailing 28-3 to the Titans.
Names to look for on the rise in the next Madden NFL 15 roster update include Russell Wilson, Brian Hoyer, Austin Davis, Antone Smith, Branden Oliver, Dez Bryant, Golden Tate, Demaryius Thomas, Sammy Watkins, Joe Staley, Gerald McCoy, Jason Pierre-Paul, Bobby Wagner, Justin Houston, and Bjoern Werner. Among those likely to see a drop are Geno Smith, Michael Vick, Christian Ponder, LeSean McCoy, Calvin Johnson, Jake Matthews, Jahri Evans, Cyril Richardson, and Buster Skrine.
There were also some significant names affected by injuries with Jairus Byrd going to IR – he wasn’t playing well this season but is still a 94 rated player in the game. Jimmy Graham, Calvin Johnson, Rashad Jennings, Jake Locker, Montee Ball, and Calais Campbell may miss some time after getting hurt as well.
Today’s Daily Dish is heavy on NBA 2K15 as it will be releasing in just a matter of hours. From examining the results of the poll on what features are most anticipated, to discussing the deflating news regarding Online Leagues, and looking forward to streaming the game tonight and over the coming days. Also there is mention of the latest Press Row Hangout and an explanation of why it’s not unusual that there hasn’t been a patch yet for Madden NFL 15.

2K Sports didn’t make much of a concerted effort to promote the Online Leagues in NBA 2K14 or now NBA 2K15. The reasoning was evident – the leagues didn’t, and still don’t apparently, meet the necessary requirements for running and sustaining a successful operation. Only a few tweets were sent out about 2K15’s leagues which did make them seem as though they would be a viable option this time. Unfortunately now as consumers begin to dig into the game it has come to light that some of the details provided were misleading or inaccurate, and others conveniently omitted. Those hoping for a suitable league experience will be left unsatisfied.
The post by a user on Operation Sports outlines all that is lacking. Despite multiple claims by 2K that teams could be CPU controlled that is not in fact true and only user-controlled teams are involved. In addition commissioners have no power over booting owners or blocking trades, there’s no ability to set rotations or adjust sliders or sign free agents, no practice mode, and there are currently issues with simulating game results.
2K Sports was the first to really offer revolutionary Online Leagues many years ago. After that they shifted focus elsewhere as EA Sports innovated with Online Franchise. 2K tried to follow but struggled to deliver a working Online Association mode in NBA 2K and now haven’t just reverted back to basic Leagues, but are offering something two years in a row that has less in the way of options than those possessed way back then. One might place the blame on the inability to monetize it but the company created a whole new offline mode this year despite that – so instead it’s clear that they just view leagues as the lowest of priorities.
It’s the best time of the year for sports gaming fans and in the latest Press Row Hangout we start by discussing our recent experiences with games like Madden NFL 15, FIFA 15, The Golf Club, and MLB 14: The Show. After that it’s on to impressions of Forza Horizon 2 (22:25) followed by a discussion of why Madden NFL 15 hasn’t received a patch yet (31:50) and a look ahead to NBA 2K15 and what we’re most anticipating with that game (39:37).

Unlike most sports games as of late a lot of work has gone into the modes of NBA 2K15. While it appears it’ll release in a couple days without having gameplay improvements detailed, which is certainly unusual, there is no shortage of content to anticipated in the product.
Whether it’s the addition of MyLeague, new storyline for MyCareer and face-scanning for your MyPlayer, changes to MyGM, additions to MyTeam, expansion of The Park, or simply the pulling back of the influence Virtual Currency plays throughout there is a lot to like about what’s being offered in the game this year.
Vote in the poll below choosing up to three options, and leave any thoughts in the comments, on what features or improvements you are most excited to get into with NBA 2K15!
