  • PlayStation 4 System Update Today Includes Highly Anticipated Share Play Feature

Sony released the big 2.00 software update for the PS4 earlier today. Among the new features and improvements is Share Play, which was announced first at the original system reveal nearly two years ago, and again highlighted at E3 over the summer. Share Play is naturally well-suited for use with sports games which makes it even more exciting.

Share Play allows for someone to join a friend’s game even if they don’t own it for up to an hour at a time. The visitor can either take over the host’s controller and play it on their own or join in for local co-op multiplayer. So not only can a person play their friend’s game and possibly decide they want to buy it for themselves but it has potential to be an amazing teaching or assisting tool as far as sports games are concerned.

Other items in the update include Youtube uploading, USB music player, home screen themes, and new live broadcasting features. Read more

It was a weekend of spectacular performances and topped by Ben Roethlisberger who threw for 522 yards and 6 touchdowns in a victory over the Colts. With about half the regular season in the books now what players do you think most need attention in regards to their current ratings vs actual performance level?

Players to look for moving up this week include Tom Brady, Colt McCoy, Ronnie Hillman, Mark Ingram, Emmanuel Sanders, Martavis Bryant, Golden Tate, Rob Gronkowski, Anthony Barr, Justin Houston, Khalil Mack, Antonio Cromartie, and Bashaud Breeland. Among those that will probably fall are Geno Smith, Joe Flacco, Blake Bortles, Cam Newton, Eric Fisher, Paul Worrilow, AL Louis-Jean, Josh Gordy, and Mark Barron.

Is enough being seeing in NBA Live 15 for EA Sports to stick with the series or will it succumb to cancellation after years of continued failure? That’s the focus of The Daily Dish today coming off the posted impressions as well as the discussion on the latest Press Row Podcast. In addition I look ahead to tomorrow when Sony will push out an update for the PlayStation 4 that includes the revolutionary “Share Play” feature among other system improvements.

  • NBA Live 15 Is The Game That Should Have Rebooted The Series

EA Sports isn’t treating NBA Live 15 like it’s a critical release for the series which desperately needs to establish itself on stable ground and show potential to achieve significant growth in the market within the next few years. In fact they’ve shown little urgency at all and even have basically admitted it’s not a stellar product. No one would have been fooled otherwise but it stands in stark contrast to the way the company promoted previous failed efforts where they instead presented a certain bravado and failed to back it up.

After spending the six hours with Live 15 through EA Access the murky picture has cleared up somewhat. No, it doesn’t really deserve credit for being “better than Live 14”, but standing on its own it’s a decent effort. That comes maybe a year or several years too late but the progress being made is evident and some may even find fun to be had from the product.  Read more
