This morning Sony San Diego dropped two new packs into the MLB 15: The Show Diamond Dynasty Store and they are causing quite a ruckus on social media given how they’ve altered the in-game market. Those playing Diamond Dynasty know packs in general have been a very poor investment but the two new ones look to change that. They are the âPrime Time Packâ and the âBallers Packâ – both available only for a limited time. Read more
EA Sports today released a second set of screenshots from Madden NFL 16. These images follow several that were released along with the teaser trailer and the initial feature reveal.
The new screens keep with the theme of receiver-defender interactions which appears to be the primary gameplay-related focus this year. Check them all out in the FB album for Madden 16.
No improvements related to the graphics have been cited except how “improved time of day and lighting helps highlight Madden NFL 16’s updated player likenesses” and there isn’t much of anything new to be spotted in the screens. It’s worth noting that no tattoos have been seen in any images for the game and there doesn’t appear to be any new equipment.
To go along with the early release of feature information for NHL 16, EA Sports has been answering some questions related to the game through the “Ask NHL” page on the official website. Some responded to include the addition of every team’s mascot, hats being thrown on the ice when a player records a Hat Trick, and there being no Online Shootouts mode.
Of course they’re cherry-picking those they want to answer and avoiding ones they’d rather not. In that latter category is whether or not the game will allow users to edit players – functionality that was lost in with NHL 15.
As evidenced last year in the run up to NHL 15, if the publisher won’t confirm or deny something is in the game while addressing softball or obvious inquiries, they’re doing so because they recognize the response will be received poorly. The safe thing then at this point is to assume there will be no Edit Player feature in NHL 16.
The editing of players may not be something a majority of people utilize but it’s important to the more hardcore group who look to make tweaks in order to increase realism. The NHL series has struggled to deliver proper player differentiation, and has yet to provide sufficient or consistent roster updates, so not having the ability to make changes is made even more frustrating.
The NHL season has only just reached the Conference Finals but EA Sports has provided an early glimpse ahead to fall’s NHL 16. There’s far more substance here, providing a full features list, than would be typical four months out from release and with E3 just under four weeks away.
The experience of last year, when the company lost much of their consumer base by releasing a half-finished game and attempting to hide that fact until the very last minute, has necessitated this strategy of being open and informative. But are the features enough to convince those who passed on the game last year to return? Vote in the poll and leave any thoughts in the comments! Results and analysis to come early next week.
This weekendâs main event at UFC 187 will crown the first new UFC light heavyweight champion in nearly four years. With Jon Jones forced to vacate his title, determining who leads the field in the division becomes a little more difficult.
Most pundits still believe that Daniel Cormier is the favorite due to his perceived wrestling superiority. He is not however an overwhelming favorite as Anthony âRumbleâ Johnson’s devastating power and recent upward momentum must be considered.
What can EA Sports UFC show us about how this fight will go down and ultimately the outcome to anticipate? Let’s get these fighters into the cage and find out. Read more
It may not be a new feature or mode for Madden NFL 16 that lifts potential enjoyment of the game the most but rather the effect of rules change. Today at the NFL owner’s meeting a new rule was passed related to the most boring play in football – that being the point after touchdown. Not only will it greatly benefit NFL games but the video game that represents the league will also become more fun due to the ramifications of the change. Read more
Last year was rough for the NHL series as EA Sports not only lost significant sales due to an abnormally thin feature set (despite extra development time) but they severely damaged trust with the community by handling things deceptively.
It was a given that most of the features that went missing in NHL 15 would return for NHL 16…with the exception of GM Connected. The question was how much would they be able to do above that to make the upcoming game enticing to those now skeptical of any claims made by the company? Here’s what’s in store for NHL 16. Read more
Last week EA Sports rolled out the first information related to Madden NFL 16. For the most part it was underwhelming and nondescript. The exception related to receiver-defender interactions including new controls for each side and more situations that will draw penalties.
That will be the focus of the two polls today. The first asks how much does the news on receiver-defender interactions matter. Is this a big deal that has increased anticipation towards Madden 16? Or is it not enough considering deficiencies in other areas of the game?
The second poll covers the brief debate had on the latest Press Row Hangout: should penalties be present in Madden? Many have lamented the lack of them in the series – representative of the lack of realism and authenticity – while others feel that not only would they not enhance the experience but they’ll detract from the fun factor. Vote in the polls below and leave any thoughts in the comments! Results will be examined late in the week.
