The roster update on June 22nd for MLB 15: The Show has brought with it an onslaught of hot corner upgrades. In the last Market Report we examined the fall of Adrian Beltre which made Josh Donaldson the highest overall rated third baseman. This week, Donaldson went even higher, and broke into the “Diamond” tier with his new 93 Overall rating. Read more
Yesterday the first breakdown of Madden NFL 16 footage was posted, taking a closer look at that game out of E3. Today attention turns to NBA Live 16 which EA Sports hopes will see a resurgence this year. The company is making some big claims that will draw additional scrutiny should they fail to live up to them but at this point they really have nothing to lose.
It’s important to be somewhat cautious in analyzing basketball games played by people, more so than other sports games, because poor or erratic play can make not only the user-controlled side look bad but the CPU as well. That being said here’s a look at the relevant plays from E3 footage for NBA Live 16 – what’s new, what looks good, and what still needs some work. Read more
EA Sports rolled out new trailers for their upcoming games at E3. What kind of traction have they had on Youtube and is there anything to be gleaned from view numbers? What probably stands out the most is how Madden really isn’t drawing at a rate that would be representative of its sales numbers – something that seems to be a trend over recent years. Read more
Though limited, there was enough footage out of E3 to start and evaluate how Madden NFL 16 is shaping up. I’ve gone through one of the videos and pulled out the relevant segments to identify what’s new, what looks good, and what maybe still needs some work. Read more
The latest roster update for MLB 15: The Show went out this morning! Two more highly touted prospects recently made their Major League debuts and have been added to the game. Byron Buxton has been given a 70 Overall Rating and ‘A’ Potential. SCEA has for some reason however placed him in AAA rather than on the Twins. Rated even higher is the Indians’ Francisco Lindor who starts at 76 Overall with ‘A’ Potential.
In terms of ratings movement the big winners were Josh Donaldson (+3 to 93), Manny Machado (+6 to 92), Todd Frazier (+4 to 91), and Eddie Rosario (+9 to 71). Notables heading the wrong direction are Jose Altuve (-2 to 89), Adrian Gonzalez (-1 to 89), Carlos Gomez (-1 to 89), and Josh Collmenter (-7 to 75). Read more

Based on the E3 presser it’s clear that, if NBA Live is going down, they’re going to do so swinging. Not only did EA Sports take shots at their 2K rival but the features announced – a face scanning app and a yet to be revealed multiplayer online mode – are an attempt to attack the competition’s weaknesses.
Ultimately though no one is going to put much stock into what they say, but rather what is shown. There wasn’t much in the way of footage to come out of E3 but there are a few videos at least to see the actual game in action. Continue on for those videos along with the Hit The Pass video which features discussion on how Live 16 fared at E3 and whether it can survive a ridiculously crowded marketplace. Read more
