There’s probably only one position that rivals quarterbacks when it comes to the ferocity of debates over the best players in the NFL. Due in large part to the arguments the actual players have had in recent years, with several staking a claim to the label, cornerbacks have taken over some of the spotlight generally reserved for the offensive side of the ball.

EA Sports continues to work through the defensive side of the ball, finishing up the front seven with the defensive tackles today. Geno Atkins has slid out of the top five at the position, while Aaron Donald has surged ahead of several players that were rated above him at the conclusion of last season to grab the final spot in the rankings. Read more

Rocket League is the rare sports game proving fun for everyone
Since releasing three weeks ago Rocket League has become a huge gaming sensation. Not the typical sports game, despite borrowing its its primary structure from soccer, Rocket League has caught on with not just sports gaming fans but also those outside the genre, as amazing word of mouth has helped in reaching gamers who may not have considered it otherwise.
It has a bright future ahead of it too, with patches and downloadable content arriving in the immediate future and support expected to extend for years to come. It’s one of the rare games where consumers actually desire the opportunity to pay for DLC to support the developers and show their appreciation. Expect it become big in eSports as well, with the likes of EA Sports and 2K Sports ultimately regretting the decision to abandon development of smaller, innovative games. Maybe the success of Rocket League will lead to them and others reevaluating their potential, which could end up being great news.

There will not be a demo for NHL 16
Last year, shortly after the launch of EA Access, Madden NFL 15 came and went without a demo. EA claimed it was just a coincidence, that EA Access wouldn’t have any impact on demos for future titles. This year however there’s been Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, which did not have a demo. Now the company has announced NHL 16 won’t have one either. Read more

Top rated defensive ends in Madden NFL 16
It’s no surprise who leads the way on the defensive line as far as Madden NFL 16 ratings go. The most dominant player in the league, J.J. Watt, retains the 99 Overall he held last season. The top five players at defensive end are all the same as last season, but shake out in a different order, and one player that was tied for a spot has dropped out of the group. Read more

EASHL player classes in NHL 16
With the beta for NHL 16 only two days away now, the nine different player types to choose from, plus three styles of goalie, for use in EA Sports Hockey League have now been revealed. EA Sports has continued rolling out player ratings for Madden NFL 16, every day, including over the weekends. The schedule then would appear to have the top players at each position possibly wrapped up Sunday, with next Monday being the start of the complete ratings for every team with a different division in the spotlight stretching over eight days. Today the top players at middle linebacker, outside linebacker, and on the offensive line are listed. Read more
