It took several weeks for Pro-Am to get up and running properly in NBA 2K16. The recent patch has fixed the primary issues – out on PS4 but Xbox One is still waiting on that – providing an opportunity to try it out in full for the first time. Read more

There have been some good deals on FIFA 16 in the weeks following its release but the best offer yet has now arrived. The game is on sale today for $40 on all platforms (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, 360, PS3, PC).
The deal is only valid through the end of the day and could expire even earlier should supply be exhausted. FIFA 16 will likely be offered for $25-30 in late November for Black Friday, but this very well may be the best opportunity to get the game at a discount until then.
With the full slate of sports games for the year released Rich Grisham joined me this week to discuss two different subjects related to them. In the first video we go over the games we’re currently playing and which have fallen off the map. With so many having released in a small window of time unavoidable choices have to be made.
The second video is focused on how dramatically different the development philosophies have proven to be when comparing the two biggest sports games in the world right now. EA Sports is handling the FIFA series in a far different fashion than 2K Sports is with the NBA 2K series. Why is that the case and what could that mean for their futures?
The two episodes are also available as in podcast form with Hit The Pass Radio, found on iTunes, the Stitcher app on Android, or Pocket Casts on iOS, Android, and Windows.

While most mobile sports games have gone the free-to-play direction and away from playing like traditional console games, 2K Sports surprisingly has continued to produce premium apps that attempt to offer a similar experience while using on-screen touch controls.
The latest is NBA 2K16 which has just gone out for iOS devices and Android devices. This game is not to be confused with the MyNBA2K16 app which is the free companion to the console game. The new mobile version of NBA 2K16 is sold for a hefty price of $8.
Reviews in the past for mobile 2K games of this nature have been poor-to-mediocre and they have probably been affected by that very high up-front cost. That price however meant getting to avoid a structure driven by microtransactions. That has now changed as VC has made its way over from the consoles and plays a role in character building and acquiring items from the 2K Store. VC is being sold in packs that that include prices of $2, $10, or $20.
Features for NBA 2K16 on mobile include full MyCareer mode, Blacktop mode, Season mode, and Euroleague teams have been added. Improvements over last year’s game have been made to the graphics, game performance, and controls.
NBA 2K16 features an excellent suite of customization options to create arenas and uniforms for use in Pro-Am, MyTeam, and relocation in MyGM and MyLeague. For those who don’t know much about it, check out the earlier article on how to make them, as well as a look at how to utilize them in Pro-Am now that the mode will work post-patch.
There are some fantastic designs out there – whether they be completely unique creations, rebrands, or recreations. I’ll be compiling some of the best for a piece coming up on Sporting News and would like your help in doing so!
To have your creations considered link to any screenshots (please only those taken from the console not with a phone off-screen) in the comments, send them through Twitter to @Pastapadre or @HitThePass, or do so through an email for a chance to have them featured in the piece. Include a Twitter handle if you would like to be identified along with the submission in the article and a brief explanation of the design concept.
