It took over six weeks but Konami has now released a full roster update for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 that extends its reach to all modes in the game. While PES 2016 has been received near universal praise – it’s the highest rated sports game since 2013 – the need to wait so long for a simple roster update understandably led to some level of frustration from fans.

Unfortunately even now Konami has been forced to acknowledge that a number of transfers were not included – something they claim to be “looking into”.

The update does go beyond just the roster, delivering some other changes, but the company has been fairly vague about them. There are said to be “gameplay tweaks” based on community feedback but specifics haven’t been provided. There are also improved player likenesses, kits, shoes, billboards and stand decor.

The new Need for Speed is out now to download as a timed trial with EA Access on Xbox One. Subscribers to the service will get 10 hours of playtime after which it will expire. The timer is ticking down whenever the game is running regardless of whether it is being played, menus are being navigated through, or if there is any activity taking place at all. So make sure to exit out and close the application from the Xbox One home screen when not in use.

The 10 hours are there to play whether or not all are used by Tuesday. Saves are stored on the hard drive so progress made offline and online carry over if an Xbox One copy is bought. The complete game is available during the trial period.

EA Access was announced last July and is exclusive to the Xbox One. This is the case because Sony has declined to offer the service through PlayStation 4 saying it doesn’t offer enough value, despite being arguably the best value in all of gaming. EA Access includes the “Vault” which offers unlimited play with nearly every game from the company’s catalog this generation but this year’s sports titles, 10% off all digital purchases, and the ability to play games up to five days before they release with a limited timed trial. In mid-November the highly anticipated Star Wars: Battlefront will go out to play early through the service. EA Access is $30 for a full year or $5 month-to-month.

    Driveclub Bikes

Driveclub is known for having by far the roughest launch in recent gaming history – one that took practically nine months to finally iron out. However it has emerged as a beautiful racing game appreciated by those who stuck with it or jumped in once fully featured and operational.

Today Driveclub Bikes launched on PlayStation 4 as a digital download in the store. It’s an expansion of the original game that does not require its ownership although there is a discount for those that do. Driveclub Bikes is available for $20 standalone or $15 to those that own last year’s Driveclub.  Read more

Support for Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, which released without nearly enough content to justify its price, hasn’t been all that inspiring. Until today one real-world course had been added since mid-July, and a promise has been made to deliver a few new courses, golfers, and play now modes by the end of March.

Now though the first of that upcoming content has arrived. Treasure Island, a new fantasy course, and Dustin Johnson have been added in a free update today on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Treasure Island is available in Play Now and online modes.

Some other tweaks to the game have also been made, most notably removing Night Club celebration animations from created golfers in regular modes.  Read more
