Yesterday the first in-season roster update went out for NBA 2K16 applying some changes based on performance from the first handful of games. Another update has released today adjusting some other players around the league.
LeBron James has company at the top of the ratings now. Stephen Curry, averaging 37 points per game, has moved up to 94 Overall to tie him for the honor. What changed were some shot ratings: Standing Shot Medium was boosted four points while Standing Shot Close, Moving Shot Close, and Moving Shot Medium all went up by three.
James Harden did take a hit today after his glaring absence from the last update. He lost three points in Standing Shot 3PT and three points in Moving Shot 3PT.
Players Up: Steph Curry (+1 to 94), Russell Westbrook (+2 to 91), Blake Griffin (+1 to 89), Kawhi Leonard (+1 to 88), Giannis Antetokounmpo (+1 to 80), Kristaps Porzingis (+1 to 75), C.J. McCollum (+2 to 74)
Players Down: James Harden (-1 to 91), Tony Parker (-2 to 81), Joe Johnson (-1 to 79), Jrue Holiday (-1 to 79), David West (-1 to 76)
2K Sports today released the first roster update for NBA 2K16 that takes into account performance from regular season games. The Warriors didn’t receive any upgrades despite a record-setting start, nor did the Rockets receive any downgrades after getting blown out in their first three games before bouncing back last night. Considering the season is so young it’s not surprising that only a handful of players were moved up or down.
Kobe Bryant is the player with the highest profile to be affected, losing three points in the Standing Shot 3PT attribute after a 6-29 start from outside the arc. Yet James Harden, who is 7-44 on threes so far this season and shooting only 30% from the field, had no ratings altered.
Players up: Andre Drummond (+1 to 84), Bradley Beal (+2 to 82), George Hill (+1 to 79), Rajon Rondo (+1 to 78), Nikola Mirotic (+1 to 77), Marcus Morris (+2 to 75), Julius Randle (+1 to 75)
Players down: Kobe Bryant (-2 to 83), Derrick Rose (-1 to 83), Gordon Hayward (-1 to 82), Goran Dragic (-1 to 80), Monta Ellis (-2 to 79), D’Angelo Russell (-2 to 75)
With Black Friday still over three weeks away, an opportunity to pick up NBA 2K16 at a discount before then has popped up today. Amazon has the game for $47 on PS4 and Xbox One.
2K16 has been out now for over a month now and opinions on the game really haven’t changed. It’s arguably the most impressively assembled sports game ever released.
The Michael Jordan Special Edition was also offered for $20 off earlier today as a lightning deal but that has now expired.
For those who are willing to give up the potential playtime prior to Black Friday on November 27 it’s likely that 2K16 will be available for $35 or $40 through various retailers.
While Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 has garnered the highest Metacritic score for a sports game since 2013, those reviews obviously couldn’t take into account developments that would occur in the weeks and months after release. Support for the series has always been shaky and in a year where publisher Konami made its intentions clear that they will be focusing on mobile game development instead of console products going forward – with the exception of the PES franchise – it’s unsettling to see that continue.
It took six weeks for the first roster update to arrive for PES 2016 and when it did fans quickly noticed glaring errors and omissions. Konami quickly acknowledged the problem and today sent out an apology while noting it will be several more weeks before a fixed roster will make it out. Read more
The Kansas City Royals prevailed over the New York Mets in five games to become World Champions. With the season complete attention will soon turn to the start of promotion for MLB 16: The Show. Before that happens however there is the roster update today – the first since the postseason began – and one more planned for MLB 15: The Show.
Today’s update essentially resets the rosters by bringing back injured players. There are some ratings changes along with it but nothing really noteworthy. Another update is being worked on, expected in 2-3 weeks, that will adjust ratings more to reflect performance through the conclusion of the postseason. Read more

The latest Press Row Podcast features panel discussion on one of the most sensitive topics in the sports gaming realm. Outside of just a few unsuccessful unlicensed attempts, Madden has had the professional football category all to itself for a decade now. Is there any scenario in the future under which a competitor could rise in the market? Or will Madden be the “NFL’s product” that goes unchallenged for the next decade as well?

Throughout the season new uniforms will be making their way into NBA 2K16. There are a bunch that teams have revealed already – some yet to make it into the game – and others that are known about but have not been made official by the teams which has to happen first. Those are in addition to the Christmas jerseys which will come later also.
The first batch of new unis were recently added to NBA 2K16. They include the Spurs “Stretch” alternate, Nuggets “Pride” WHITEGOLD alternate, and Heat “Legacy” alternate. Unfortunately new uniforms are tied to roster updates rather than patched in and that means they won’t be found in MyGM, MyLeague, or MyCareer modes that are already in progress.
