Arriving a day earlier than expected, the highly-acclaimed Rocket League is now available on Xbox One. The $20 price includes the base game, three downloadable content packs, and all the patches and extra content that has been added since it originally became available last summer on PlayStation 4 and PC. Rocket League can be purchased and downloaded through the Xbox.com website or directly on the console.
Additionally there are two exclusive vehicles for those on Xbox One: Gears of War’s Armadillo and Halo’s Warthog, along with other exclusive items related to flags and rocket trails. The only add-on that would require a separate purchase is the DeLorean from Back to the Future. Unfortunately, unlike those on PS4 and PC who can play together online, Rocket League on Xbox One will be limited to only XB1 players in online matches.
While the NBA celebrated a sensational All-Star Weekend, the video games that represent the sport have failed to deliver consumers a similar experience. In a piece at Hit The Pass today the integration of All-Star events in NBA 2K16 and NBA Live 16 are evaluated. What hasn’t been updated in years and what is missing? How can the Saturday night events and actual All-Star Game be changed to better reflect their real-life counterparts?
What would you like to see done with the events that take place over All-Star Weekend in the NBA games? Leave any suggestions in the comments!
Including one that just went live today there have been two significant patches for Rocket League to go out within the last week. With the game finally coming to Xbox One on Wednesday, and popularity still extremely high for those on PS4 and PC, the fantastic post-release support remains extremely relevant. A new season for online has begun, new arenas are available, and a number of bugs have been addressed. Read more

The MLB The Show 16 stream earlier this week that focused on gameplay improvements was unable to cover everything of note, and a new one today went into detail on some other features that will be enjoyed in the game this year.
That includes the much anticipated return of Sounds of the Show, which will allow for up to 6GB of MP3s to be added for use with walk-up and home run music, crowd chants and yells, and playing when in the menus. Among the other things touched on are the addition of retractable roofs, park specific bullpen cameras, in-game tutorials, changes to Challenge of the Week, new equipment, and the new format for the Home Run Derby. Read more
The roster update following the Super Bowl for Madden NFL 16 is now available to download on all platforms and is the last the game will recieve. It includes only a few ratings changes affecting the Broncos and Panthers, but resets the depth charts for all 32 teams.
Super Bowl MVP Von Miller was already rated 99 Overall, but still got increases in two attribute categories. Cam Newton did drop in some attributes but remains at 98 Overall. Among the other ratings movers in the update are Kawann Short (-1 to 95), Derek Wolfe (+1 to 91), C.J. Anderson (+1 to 85), Ted Ginn Jr. (-1 to 81), and Michael Oher (-1 to 76).
An update released today for NHL 16 has added in a number of new team jerseys. Most notably are those that were used in the Winter Classic game on January 1, and the Stadium Series games which are coming up later this month in Minneapolis and Denver.
Winter Classic: Bruins, Canadiens
Stadium Series: Avalanche, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Wild
Additionally third jerseys have been added for the San Antonio Rampage, Charlottetown Islanders, Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, and Hamilton Bulldogs. The patch also fixes occasional issues where players never returned from the penalty box and where players would not line up correctly when using aggressive faceoff style in an offensive zone faceoff, plus improvements have been made to reduce lag experienced in online modes.
The first promotional push for MLB The Show 16 related to Road to the Show with the “Perks” and “Showtime” features generating decidedly mixed reaction. Gameplay should be a different story, as there will naturally be those who feel not enough has been done, but all that which has been improved upon will likely be viewed in a positive light.
The primary focus for this year was on variety in animations, but there are also new elements of personality that have been injected, while major issues with bunting and stealing have supposedly been addressed.
