With just five weeks until NBA 2K17 releases the game still remains largely a mystery. Outside of the franchise modes getting league expansion and the inclusion of the USA’s Olympic teams there’s practically nothing else known about what’ll be new this year.
Now though 2K Sports has provided at least a glimpse at the game with the first trailer which is naturally focused on showcasing the 2016 National Team and 1992 Dream Team. Unfortunately the trailer acts as only a tease as it’s still not known what role the teams and Olympics play in the game and whether other nations from around the world will be represented.
EA Sports announced early this week that Formation Subs will be included in Madden NFL 17’s Franchise Mode. While initially left out of the feature set it’ll now make it in with the patch that arrives alongside the game as it’s released. Operation Sports has a developer blog detailing the Formation Subs which allow for the designation of players to be on the field in particular formations regardless of how the depth chart is sorted.
The ability to set formation substitutions was one of the community’s most requested features so its return with the assurance that it’ll be in the game day one is welcome despite the functionality lacking in some respects. The launch update in question will likely be out by next Wednesday in order to align with the beginning of the EA Access trial period.
While the basics have been known for some time now regarding what’s new in NHL 17 for the mode formerly known as Be a GM – relocation (check out the list of 19 cities) and other ownership aspects being added – EA Sports had yet to go into the specifics of the features. Those arrived today however with complete details on what to expect out of Franchise Mode when the game releases next month. Read more
One of the big new features for Franchise Mode in NHL 17 is team relocation. Be a GM will offer the opportunity to move a team to a new city and 19 of them have now been revealed. Cities vary in size of the market, fan engagement, stadium funding percentage, and interest in the team which will presumably play a role in whether relocation is accepted by the league.
Relocation Options: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Halifax, Hamilton, Hartford, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Portland, Quebec City, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Saskatoon, Seattle.
Relocation comes into play because of the new ownership aspect in Be a GM, which also adds in other team-control aspects like ticket prices, marketing, and arena upgrades.
Rocket League has done a fantastic job of adding new creative ways to play post-release, with everything from modes that experiment with physics and the arenas to new base sports like hockey and basketball. Now for the first time power-ups are being introduced to the game with a new mode set to arrive in September.
Developer Psyonix just announced “Rumble” as a free new mode for the Playlist and Mutator areas of the game. There will be 11 different power-ups contained within Rumble: Read more

The Panthers lead the way in the NFC with the team ratings for Madden NFL 17 despite losing the top rated cornerback in the video game (Josh Norman) and a few other solid contributors from last season. One factor to remember however is that Kelvin Benjamin will be back and he alone will make the offense more dynamic.
The Packers, Seahawks, Cardinals, and Cowboys follow closely behind. Arizona and Carolina have tied for the best offense while the best defense resides in Seattle.
These ratings are meant to be a representation of the “whole” but don’t necessarily reflect how effective the teams will be in Madden. The number of players rated 90+ and 80+ on the rosters maybe says more about them. Remember, the Overall numbers are lower with M17, but the actual players are being rated essentially the same or higher this year. Read more
