    Press Row Podcast

The world of video games is constantly evolving, and no phenomenon has impacted how companies market, how media covers, and how consumers discover them more than livestreaming. On this week’s episode of the Press Row Podcast, we gather streamers and content makers from three different angles – publisher (Adam Burnett/Out of the Park Developments), independent media outlet (Chris aka Millennium/Operation Sports), and self-made popular streamer (Daniel Basel/UberYouTuber) to join guest host Rich Grisham in discussing why they do what they do and how it impacts their favorite sports video games.

Check out the podcast through iTunes for iOS, on Android with the Stitcher app, or with Pocket Casts on iOS, Android, and Windows. The show can also now be found on the recently launched Google Play Music for podcasts. Subscribe and review to help support the show! You can also listen with the streaming player below.

While the Thanksgiving program in MUT remains open minus the Ultimate Feast portion, EA Sports has just rolled out a brand new one coinciding with Black Friday that includes some big potential rewards that will be active until the same endpoint on November 29.

Black Friday Blitz currently doesn’t have a full Solo Challenge campaign available. Instead there’s one limited time solo that awards a pack with 3 Blitz Tickets. Blitz Packs are being sold for 50,000 Coins or 500 Points (equivalent of $5). They contain 5 Blitz Tickets, 3 Gold or better players, 3 team items, and 250 Contracts.

Completing the new set of 10 Objectives unlocks a Blitz Pack and each individual one delivers a Blitz Ticket. There is also now a ‘Leftovers’ set within the Thanksgiving promo where trading in 5 food items will return a single Blitz Ticket. Those tickets can be used in Blitz Sets for card packs or players. There are 30 sets that will open, each for a very limited number of hours, at designated scheduled times through Monday.

The second content update for Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 went out today on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and delivers new kits, updated and enhanced player likenesses, three new stadiums, and a number of presentation elements designed to mirror key matchday experiences.

100 player likenesses will also undergo improvements, with the new update adding updated visual representations of the likes of Marco Reus, Neymar Jr, Adrian Ramos, Sadio Mane and Lionel Messi, amongst others. The thumbnail images that are used within all tactical screens have also been updated to reflect changes in appearance and the new likeness elements. Other additions will include minor bug fixes, the addition of 11 new boot styles and improved UEFA Champions League presentation elements.

Stadiums added to the game with the latest patch are Anfield (Liverpool), Signal Iduna Park (Borussia Dortmund), and Allianz Parque (Palmeires). There’s also a new classic kit from the 2004-2005 season for Liverpool and the introduction of anthems (‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and ‘Heja BVB’) for Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund respectively.

While most sports games see considerable discounts at retailers within weeks of release, Pro Evolution Soccer is the rare one that lags far behind with any price drop given that it doesn’t move a great deal of copies in North America. Amazon today though has the latest game in the series for $40 on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There has been no sign given that PES 2017 will be found for cheaper anywhere later this week.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 received a 9/10 review and is arguably the top of the class as far as gameplay goes in the genre. The drawbacks are licensing-related (if making a choice, go with PS4, since creations can be shared there and not on XB1) and that there hasn’t been much creativity or innovation with its modes in recent years.

    nba2k17giannis

The fourth post-release patch for NBA 2K17 is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as on PC. The earlier updates made to the game have addressed the ability to release roster updates, added PS4 Pro support, fixed the shot meter and various bugs, and tweaked gameplay and presentation. Despite that major issues have remained most notably related to CPU defensive AI and the game’s online Pro-Am mode.

The new patch doesn’t note any changes to the big defensive AI concerns that have been highly discussed by the community and also doesn’t claim to have fixed the connection problems plaguing Pro-Am. Instead it focuses heavily on MyPark gameplay adjustments while fixing the bug that prevented passing icons from displaying with PS4 Pro systems.  Read more
