The latest addition of premium content for Rocket League is the third to feature a licensed property. Two Hot Wheels cars are now available to purchase and follow rollouts with Back to the Future‘s DeLorean in late 2015 and the Batmobile from Batman v Superman in early 2016.
Bone Shaker and Twin Mill III are being sold for $2 and both include their own set of six exclusive decals. There are also new items that will be obtainable regardless of whether the cars are purchased. Featured among them are Hot Wheels and Shark Bite toppers, Hot Wheels antenna, and Treasure Hunt flag. Those are gained through random item drops after matches.
Following pushes that showcased gameplay improvements and Diamond Dynasty mode, the promotional schedule for MLB The Show 17 this week is focused on what’s known as the “little things” which fans of the series have appreciated over the years. These are aspects of the game that may be overlooked by some but the discovery of which for others is often a thrill.
In today’s intro video to the “little things” the three new classic stadiums (Metrodome, Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium) are mentioned and briefly shown, it’s revealed there will be Missions in Franchise mode, a new score system has been implemented in Challenge of the Week, Sounds of the Show has doubled in number of music slots, and SOTS now lets you apply music to starting pitcher intros and relief pitcher entrances. Additionally, building on what was first put into place last year with the King’s Court in Safeco Field, a handful of other crowds will have their own authentic rituals or designated special sections. The long-anticipated trade of DeMarcus Cousins finally materialized last night with a deal that sends him and Omri Casspi to the New Orleans Pelicans. In return the Sacramento Kings receive 2017 1st and 2nd round picks, Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, and Langston Galloway. The Kings organization is being ridiculed for the deal and NBA 2K17 agrees that they got a poor return for their superstar who is ranked as the 7th best player in the league.

The Pelicans on the other hand now have the second highest-rated pair of teammates in the NBA behind only the Warriors’ Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. Cousins is rated 93 Overall and now joins a frontcourt with last night’s All-Star MVP the 94 Overall Anthony Davis.
That formidable frontcourt though leaves the team with some holes on the roster elsewhere. Jrue Holiday at 82 Overall is the only other player on the team rated over 76 and two of their better three-point shooters (Hield, Galloway) were moved in the deal.
The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, deal alerts, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings.

After more than 20 years a spiritual successor to the cult classic Mutant League Football has finally reached the red zone. Mutant Football League will release later this year on PC and early 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game is described as an “NFL Blitz arcade-style football game, with nasty mutants, ferocious monsters, deadly chainsaws, and lots of gory player deaths, along with some edgy, satirical humor that parodies America’s favorite sport.”
The creator and lead designer of the original game is back to lead development on the new one. We welcome on Michael Mendheim to the Press Row Podcast to talk about the history of mutant football, the ongoing successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, lessons learned from one that came up short in 2013, the challenges of designing a game now vs then, and how fans are being engaged and awareness created in an intensely competitive environment.

With the season over we can look back at the entire campaign rather than the week-to-week and identify who improved and regressed most through the Madden NFL 17 player ratings. Make sure to check out the full lists of players on the rise and those who declined sharply.
Matt Ryan saw his rating soar over the course of his MVP season, taking him from 13th in quarterbacks to trailing only Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. Rookies like Dak Prescott, Jordan Howard, Michael Thomas, Tyreek Hill, and Joey Bosa shined. The Patriots had the most players on the ‘winners’ list tied with the Chargers, the latter having to deal with a number of injuries that allowed younger players the chance to prove themselves and rise quickly in ratings.
Cam Newton, Carson Palmer, Tyrann Mathieu, Darrelle Revis, and Muhammad Wilkerson were hit hardest of all. It’s no surprise that the teams that fell off most from the previous season saw that reflected through player ratings. The Cardinals, Panthers, Broncos, and Jets led the way in number of players that had their ratings drop significantly.
This has been the week of Diamond Dynasty in the promotional schedule for MLB The Show 17, from the first video going over new features to another that acted as an introduction to the mode primarily for those unfamiliar with it. Now a lengthy developer live stream has followed providing a closer look at some of the feature additions, improvements, and some highly anticipated cards that will be found in the team-building mode.
