Here is a video of Gilbert Arenas, the newly announced cover athlete for EA Sports NBA Live 08, as he talks about what it means to have received the honor.

You gotta love his enthusiasm. It’s clear that it isn’t just about the money (cough…Tomlinson…cough) but he is really excited about the opportunity to be on the cover of the game. He’s not just going through the motions of standard PR, but he is loving every second of this. Only “Agent Zero” would call his own press conference to reveal he got the cover!
Also of note is the plug of nbalive.com at the end of the video, which was officially posted to YouTube by EA. Currently that address re-directs to easports.com/nbalive08 however the website has yet to go live. It will likely go up any day now.
EA Sports has released the cover art for NBA Live 08 featuring Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas. Arenas was recently revealed to be the cover athlete.
It has also been noted that the game will be coming out in October. NBA Live 07 released on September 25th, NBA Live 06 made its way out on September 26th.
In all likelihood the final release date for NBA Live 08 will fall on Tuesday September 25th, October 2nd, or October 9th.
EA Sports has added wallpapers to their NCAA Football 08 website. There are 21 teams featured currently (the top 20 teams in the nation plus Oklahoma State). Also available for download is the Jared Zabransky wallpaper which had been up previously. More teams will be added to the site in time.
This post will be updated with the draft day screens as they are released via EA Sports official Madden 08 website. Click the thumbnails for the full size screenshot. All 32 players are now posted.

2. Detroit Lions: WR Calvin Johnson

The first news on Madden 08 has surfaced via IGN and there are numerous details dished on the next release in EA Sports popular NFL licensed franchise. The initial information on the game is very gameplay-centric, which is a departure from the norm where new features or modes would generally be discussed instead.
Below is a recap of some of the main points of interest from the article.
“If it’s in the game, it’s in the game”. Look for the addition of gang tackling, laterals, diving catches, shutdown corners, hurdling, and more.
Receivers can get hit in mid-air when attempting to make a catch.
Receivers will play more like their real-life counterparts do. Different types of receivers will have different strengths and weaknesses. Possession receivers will play differently than deep threats.
Here is a video I put together to commemorate the choice of Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas for the cover of EA Sports NBA Live 08.
As announced earlier today, now available on the Xbox 360 Live Marketplace is a Madden 08 cover announcement theme featuring Titans QB Vince Young. The theme will be free for the next two weeks.
I took screens of each blade. Click the thumbnails to see them full size.
I was able to capture the Vince Young Madden 08 commercial and just got it uploaded to Youtube. The series of commercials, which began airing on ESPN yesterday, also includes Devin Hester and Reggie Bush versions.
