The major shakeup that Mike Holmgren is making in Cleveland is leading to a higher probability of trading up in the first round to grab either Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen. Today Holmgren even said that the team would consider drafting a QB at #7 or trading up to get one. The Browns have amassed a ton of draft picks as they now hold 12 of them including three third rounders. That surplus of draft picks sounds great but it would be a lot to ask to pay every one of them. Looking at the draft...

This mock draft version follows the early days of free agency which resulted in some signings and trades that are likely to have altered draft strategies for multiple teams. This also continues to include thoughts coming out of the combine, though most of those notes were cited in the previous mock. Continue on for the "early in free agency" mock draft and leave your thoughts in the comments! (more…)...

Tim Tebow will be heavily examined, particularly due to the changes being implemented in his throwing mechanics, at the Florida Pro Day on March 17th. Two teams will also be bringing him in for individual workouts. The Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills have invited him in with those visits occurring sometime after the Pro Day. (more…)...

With the NFL Combine out of the way (and reports on each position posted in the NFL Draft section) this mock draft incorporates changes based off performances or any other recent developments. Free agency opens up at midnight tonight and that will change everything, but I wanted to get a post-Combine mock out in advance of the frenzy. (more…)...

The big names at safety are the ones that primarily stood out at the combine. There was even added controversy as it came to the 40 time of Taylor Mays. The top three safeties all could find themselves chosen by the time the first round is up. (more…)...

Widely regarded as the best corner in the draft Joe Haden did not have a good day. Better performances were turned in by players who enjoyed success at the Senior Bowl. Haden still will likely be considered the top cornerback but Kyle Wilson is nipping at his heels now. (more…)...
  • NFL Combine Reaction: Defensive Line

The two big names at defensive tackle are widely considered as standouts and most sure things in the draft. Despite this one of them was even able to impress at the combine while the other fell a little behind in comparison. The defensive tackles and defensive ends were for the most part a very fast and athletic group. (more…)...
  • NFL Combine Reaction: Linebackers

The linebackers came across as a lot less flashy than the group at defensive end. Actually some of the defensive ends outdid the linebackers in their own drills. Brandon Graham tweaked a hamstring running the 40 and had to pull out of the drills after that. Two middle linebackers that scouts are really wanting to get a look at in Rolando McClain and Brandon Spikes have disappointingly pushed full assessments until their Pro Days. (more…)...
