This was a huge week for news, so much so that I felt obligated to recap everything that went down into one post to be referenced from. Sign up for the weekly newsletter and you'll get something similar to this sent to your email every Friday. It simply puts together all articles from that week, lists them out by title and includes a link to each. It is a good way to keep up on everything and make sure you didn't miss something you'd be interested in checking out. If you'd like to signup y...

With the recent news from EA that they are shooting for Fifa 2010 to have the ability online of 11 individuals vs 11 individuals, it brings up whether that is the directon they may be headed in other games such as Madden or NBA Live. Modes such as Superstar in Madden, Race for the Hesiman/Campus Legend in NCAA Football and the new Be a Pro in Fifa have started to get the fan of sports games conditioned to taking on the role of a single player. Can that be the start of the transition to seein...

For anyone who browses the web on their PDA or cell phone, the site is now presented in a much better way to be navigated on them. It also loads quicker due to that. When you visit with a PDA or cell phone it should automatically detect that and it should display the mobile version of the site. Instead of seeing the normal layout, the homepage will simply list the links of the 10 latest postings underneath links for home, recent posts, and pages. If you click on an article it will display...

  • Why doesn’t EA promote the PS2/Xbox versions?

It isn't confined to Madden, but it seems as if the older gen versions of sports games aren't getting any attention pre-release. This is especially curious since they actually are sell more copies than the new gen versions do. EA finally released some details on the current gen news via blog. Why is it that it seems the PS2/Xbox versions go practically ignored? Money has to be a factor, in how they use their marketing budget. You could split it, or you could concentrate on one version. If ...
  • Padre is a happy, happy man tonight

It has been a long time since I can remember being this excited about something off-the-field. I've had the chance to watch the Seahawks go to the Super Bowl, which is the pinnacle thus far overall. The Sonics playing in the Finals against the Bulls in the 90s, and watching the Kemp-Peyton connection will always be fondly remembered. But tonight, I actually feel as if I won the lotto, as the Sonics pulled the unlikely ending up with the 2nd pick in the draft. That likely means it will be Kev...
  • OJ Simpson in All-Pro Football 2K8

When the list of names for APF 2K8 were released on the official website, one stood out and immediately created a stir. That person would be OJ Simpson. Is it right that someone who was found not guilty criminally but is still heavily suspected of committing double-murder by the majority of the public be featured in the game? Just recently Simpson was asked to leave a restaurant by the owner who simply didn't want him there. The reaction from the rest of the patrons? Applause after he left. T...

On Wednesday Padre was visiting the EA Canada studio for a media event. However now he leaves for the wonderful city of Las Vegas for a much needed vacation that runs through Monday. At some point over the next couple days, his first hand look at NBA Live 08 will suddenly appear. Understand though that the updates on the site will not be as frequent over the weekend. However he claims that he will attempt to check-in and post up any of the important news at least once a day. Also you ca...
