In this PadreCast I recap my feelings on NBA Live 08 coming out of the community event held last week. Much of it is simply going over the same positives and negatives that I laid out in my full impressions report, however I do expand on some of those thoughts as well bring up a couple other things that I didn't mention. To listen in by using the built-in player you'll need to either view from the main page of the site or from the PadreCast category page. You can also use the player in th...
  • Weekly Recap: June 25th-July 1st

Personally it was a very busy week as I was in New York for the NBA Live Community Event that brought about time with NBA Live 08 as well as attending the NBA Draft. Live 08 had a big week with not only the Community Day impressions but also with the exposure they got advertising. The other EA titles naturally seemed to take a back seat to Live, as NCAA Football 08 and Madden 08 both had less of a presence this week. All-Pro Football 2K8 finally pushed out true looks at the game with footage ...

It is only June 27th, yet a group from the community has already spent a significant amount of time with NBA Live 08. The importance of that can't be underestimated. Because the game doesn't come out until October 2nd, we were able to discuss in detail what we liked, what we disliked, and what we would like to see changed for the upcoming release. Not next year's version, but this will actually affect the one that will be coming out in four months. The input that was given is being ...
  • Checking in from NY: Day 1

Traveling in I arrived early in the AM with the only thing scheduled for the day being the EA Sports NBA Live party in the evening. There we were joined by members of the press, Kevin Durant and Gilbert Arenas, as well as other players. There were a couple stations with NBA Live however we spent minimal time with it since we'll have six hours with it on Wednesday. I should be able to put up my first impressions of the game and the input we made with the producers late in the evening/early ...

In preparation for a busy week I recorded a new PadreCast to go over some of the plans ahead and what to expect. The NBA Live Community Day event is taking place this week and I'll be in NY for that until Friday. Also The BIGS is being released on Tuesday. Because I'll be busy much of the time look for the site to be updated more so late at night/early in the morning on Tuesday through Friday. I'll try to post up news as well as updates on whats going on in NY but I don't know how much op...

Gametrailers really pushed out a lot of videos for NCAA Football and Madden this week. It dominated NCAA Football's content, while Madden had a handful of other things going for it as well due to the producer blogs. Specifically, the blog discussing the blocking may have gotten the best reaction across forums of anything EA has ever put out. All-Pro Football was dominated by marketing discussion. NBA Live has been showing itself off and has the community day event this coming week. There was a s...
  • Who should go #1 in the NBA Draft?

With the NBA Draft coming up on Thursday the 28th, who do you think the Trailblazers should select with the #1 pick? We know Greg Oden and Kevin Durant are going to be chosen with the first two picks by Portland and Seattle. But which guy should the Trailblazers go with? I'll be live-blogging via twitter from the NBA Draft and should have a bunch of thoughts and pics to post up after as well. Being a Sonics fan it'll be an especially exciting night for me, not to mention I've never attended ...
