  • First SSX Gameplay Video

    Yesterday brought the debut trailer for SSX from EA Sports which included some quick glimpses of gameplay. Today however comes the first extended gameplay footage from the reboot of the series via IGN. The video shows off the "Trick It" mode which is one of three along with "Race It" and "Survive It". In offline-only "Trick It" users travel down the mountain scoring points while the path reshapes itself along the way. (more…)...

    EA Sports has delivered the first gameplay trailer for the reboot of the SSX franchise marking its first appearance on the HD consoles. Having droped the 'Deadly Descents' sub-title and shifted away from the initial focus of being a dark and gritty representation, this new trailer attempts to display more of the classic SSX look and feel while re-introducing one of the original characters from the series (Mac) that will be included in the game.     EA Sports has released a series of videos going behind the scenes in development of the upcoming SSX. Three videos have now been delivered so far covering areas such physics, tricks, and level design.     The return of SSX was highly anticipated and celebrated but immediately after being announced backlash began to build based on the various descriptions and screenshots of the game.     Though no official release date for SSX Deadly Descents has been determined, much yet announced, EA Sports has now stated on the game's Facebook page that it will be arriving "next winter". Currently retailers have date placeholders in for the game with Amazon listing it as 2/1/12 and Gamestop 1/3/12.
