Today Microsoft revealed the initial list of games receiving backwards compatibility on Xbox One when the functionality launches for the system on Thursday. As expected the sports gaming genre has little representation with only one game in the mix. NBA Jam: On Fire Edition will be available with the first batch of games. Originally released November 2011, OFE was a $15 downloadable-only title. It was fairly well received, with 85/81 on Metacritic, but also followed only a year after t...

While Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 has garnered the highest Metacritic score for a sports game since 2013, those reviews obviously couldn't take into account developments that would occur in the weeks and months after release. Support for the series has always been shaky and in a year where publisher Konami made its intentions clear that they will be focusing on mobile game development instead of console products going forward - with the exception of the PES franchise - it's unsettling to...

It took over six weeks but Konami has now released a full roster update for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 that extends its reach to all modes in the game. While PES 2016 has been received near universal praise - it's the highest rated sports game since 2013 - the need to wait so long for a simple roster update understandably led to some level of frustration from fans. Unfortunately even now Konami has been forced to acknowledge that a number of transfers were not included - something they ...

Driveclub is known for having by far the roughest launch in recent gaming history - one that took practically nine months to finally iron out. However it has emerged as a beautiful racing game appreciated by those who stuck with it or jumped in once fully featured and operational. Today Driveclub Bikes launched on PlayStation 4 as a digital download in the store. It's an expansion of the original game that does not require its ownership although there is a discount for those that do. D...
