Vladimir Tarasenko gets the NHL 17 cover and first gameplay trailer
This evening Vladimir Tarasenko was announced as the cover athlete for NHL 17 during the NHL Awards broadcast. The St. Louis Blues forward won the cover competition by beating out Joe Pavelski in the finals of the eight man fan-voted tournament.
While the full list of features was revealed earlier this month, NHL 17 has been somewhat out of the public eye as of late given that it didn't appear during EA's E3 press briefing. The trailer for the game was instead held back until now...

EA Sports has made a big deal out of FIFA 17 moving to the Frostbite engine, with supposed benefits to gameplay and the ability to create things like the new story mode. However, despite being playable at EA Play last week, gameplay footage has been difficult to find as any recording was apparently restricted at the event. What excited you most out of E3 2016?
This year's E3 was a fairly uneventful one for the crop of annual licensed sports games. FIFA 17 had the big announcement of a story mode and description of some gameplay advancements while Madden NFL 17 detailed improvements to Franchise mode.

First trailer for PES 2017
Last month Konami revealed the initial set of gameplay-related features for Pro Evolution Soccer 2017. Now to coincide with E3 they've released the first look at the game in the form of a trailer. Sequel to The Golf Club announced
Released in 2014, The Golf Club is one of the recent successes from independent studios trying to reach a sports gaming audience. Though somewhat lacking in the overall feature set and absent any licenses the game was well-received for its realistic gameplay, impressive course creator, and admirable post-release support.

Steep is a new mountain sports game coming this December
More than one snowboarding game is shooting for release later this year. Joining the previously revealed Infinite Air will be Steep, which was just announced today at Ubisoft's E3 press briefing along with a trailer and gameplay walkthrough.
