I went ahead and captured a full game which you can view below. It is broken down by period and each video runs approximately 6-7 minutes long. This was the first game played (not only with 08 but with any hockey game in years) and as such most of the time was spent attempting to feel things out. I'll have general impressions, online play details and impressions, and more videos up on Monday. Continue on to watch the videos (more…)...

I have received my copy of NHL 08. Once I have an opportunity to get a decent amount of time in with the game I'll do what I can to post up my impressions. Those will come from the perspective of someone who isn't a hockey fan. I won't be able to compare the new release to last year's as I didn't play it nor will I be able to answer hockey specific questions. However I will discuss my overall thoughts and whether or not it is a game that would be enjoyable regardless of whet...

The EASPORTS World team has been working around the clock to upgrade our server capacity for Tiger Woods, NCAA Football and Madden fans. Progress is being made and EA is committed to the Sportsworld experience. We anticipate having a delivery date for full ...

  • Photo Face still unavailable for Tiger Woods 08

    Posted September 2nd, 2007 at 12:39 pm 16 Comments
Updating previous articles on 8/30 and 8/28, the EA Sports World site is still not functioning thus preventing consumers from utilizing the Photo Face feature in Tiger Woods 08. There is now a new message that states the max number of connections has been exceeded. Occasionally I have been able to log in, however the process of creating a photo face has never completed. It is amusing seeing commercials advertising the feature and Tiger Woods promoting it even though it hasn't worked sinc...
  • Update on the status of EA Sports World

    Posted August 30th, 2007 at 12:58 am 20 Comments
As I addressed on Tuesday with this article, the EA Sports World site has not been functioning ever since the launch of Tiger Woods 08. This has meant that consumers who purchased the game have not been able to utilize advertised and highly promoted features such as Game Face. I received word early on Wednesday that EA was aware of the problems (how could they not be) and that they were working to get them fixed. Despite that there was no indication of how long it could possibly take. La...

    Posted August 30th, 2007 at 12:24 am 4 Comments
The demo for NHL 08 has gone up on the Xbox 360 Live Marketplace. There is still no indication when to expect it out for the PS3 although it is likely it won't be seen until well after release of the game (September 11th). It comes in at a relatively slim 593.20 MB. The details of the demo were discussed earlier and can be found here....
  • Problems with EA Sports World persist

    Posted August 28th, 2007 at 2:53 pm 106 Comments
One of the most significant additions to the future of sports gaming has been through the new EA Sports World site. While this appears to be the hub for all sorts of new online features (uploading videos/photos, statistical tracking, leagues and more) it has been plagued by problems since launching alongside NCAA Football 08 back in July. Some of the issues faced thus far have been login problems, users unable to match their EA names to their EASportsWorld account, the site being down/sl...
