With EA Sports Facebreaker still a long ways away (tentative November release) it was somewhat surprising to find that MTV got the chance to get a talk about what they had seen of the game. Obviously at this point it is far to early to evaluate it but there were some new nuggets of information mentioned. I've pulled a few of the more noteable quotes from the article below. You can read the entire piece by clicking here. I was told that each character would be unique and have a great back...

With the EA purchase of Take Two seeming likely, and sooner rather than later, that brings up the question of what will happen to that which is now known as 2K Sports. After TT decided to drop the College Hoops franchise I took a look at the outlook for the future of the rest of their titles. However given the circumstances this would present a totally different scenario. While we don't know some of the behind the scenes details of these games there is some reasonable expectations that could...

Just came across the wire. It has been known for a while that Take Two was in financial trouble and that led many to believe EA would be interested in acquiring them. In all likelihood this would signal the end of 2K Sports at least in the way we know their current operations to be. There is now a website eataketwo.com that contains an open letter from EA CEO John Riccitiello. EA will be hosting a conference call tomorrow at 5am PT / 8am ET to discuss in greater detail. More to follow... ...

The interview held with Peter Moore has sparked some good discussion and the reaction has been interesting to follow. One of the more frequently commented upon topics is Moore's use of Metacritic as a major basis for considering Madden 08 to be an excellent game. While in some ways it may have been, everyone would agree that there is a lot of room for improvement in the series. That got me to thinking. I'm of the belief that Metacritic is not the best method for determining how good a gam...

The new update to GameShow launched today. If you already have it installed on your computer you'll need to re-download the program from the official website. It'll install over the previous version. The 1.2 update of GameShow runs much lighter than the previous ones which had PC requirements that many had trouble meeting. The updated requirements are below as well as my quick impressions on some of the new features. - Windows XP (SP2) or Windows Vista - DirectX 9.0c or later - 128MB of ava...

Gametrailers has posted up the premiere trailer for EA Sports Facebreaker. The arcade boxing title was just recently announced and is tentatively slated to release in early November. The developers of Fight Night Round 3 have assembled the most ferocious boxers on the planet in an epic display of speed, power, and ego. As predicted the trailer doesn't show off any in-ring footage, being that it is still approximately 10 months from release that is no surprise. It does feature a couple of...
