EA extends offer deadline for Take Two
The news that was alluded to for today regarding the EA offer for Take Two is that the deadline has been extended yet again. It now is set to expire on June 16th. The actual offer has not changed and still sits at $25.74, the same value (2 billion) as it has been since it was initially revealed back in February. Some random topics and poll for today
Community events are coming up for Madden 09/Head Coach 09/NCAA 09 (5/29-30) as well as NBA Live 09 (6/13). More on those as details are set. Looks like the NHL games will be releasing on 9/9. That is the normal time for them being the second Tuesday in September. The NBA games may be released on 10/14. That would actually mean one to two weeks later than usual. EA Sports has released yet another character profile video for Facebreaker. This one features Ice, who had previously been seen in the general trailer and some of the earliest screenshots. Full website for Facebreaker launches
The full website for Facebreaker went live yesterday, replacing the blog-like structured site that had been in place since the game's announcement in late January. A new character is going to debut every other week and while I have discussed it previously the site does confirm that the game will be releasing on September 3rd and for $50. For the first time in recent memory 2K Sports has beaten out EA Sports with the first announcement around one of the upcoming releases. The looming potential of an EA buyout hangs overhead but the production of 2K's titles continue as normal in the meantime. EA-Take Two news coming Monday
Coming out of the EA financial call yesterday Lazard Capital’s Colin Sebastian has stated that an update to the buyout proposal of Take Two will be coming on Monday. The deadline that EA had set previously ends this Friday. The current offer stands at $25.74 a share which amounts to just about 2 billion dollars.
