Tyson or Ali?
That's what EA Sports is asking in regards to who should be on the cover of Fight Night Round 4. The official site for the game went live earlier today. Right now it includes producer blog entries along with the poll as to whether Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, or both should be on the cover.
With the unveiling of FNR4 coming on Sunday night one or both seem likely to join Peter Moore on stage at the VGAs. And could the tagline "no two fights are ever the same" be a hint at what Moore was ...
Peter Moore Talks About Fight Night Reveal
In his most recent blog posting EA Sports president Peter Moore discussed the Fight Night Round 4 reveal being made at the Spike Video Game Awards on Sunday. Reference is made to a "special guest" which seems likely to be Mike Tyson and a summer release date instead of previously stated spring. In addition they'll be showing off something "never before seen in a videogame".
I hope you'll all be watching the Spike VGAs live this Sunday, where I'll be joined by a special guest on stage to sh...
NHL 09 3rd Jersey Code
The code to unlock the alternate jerseys in EA Sports NHL 09 is finally out. After an unexplained wait the code is now known and can be entered into the game. This will open up each team's RBK Edge 3rd jersey option. Thanks goes to Harlan Stone for sending over the code.

Early 2009 Brings New Trio of Releases
Generally the months of January and February are relatively thin when it comes to sports releases. The MLB titles arrive either in the last week of February or the first week of March. Leading up to that there has usually been one or two games released early on in the year. In the past that has ended up as a Street game (NBA, NFL, FIFA).
This year there is more variety being offered. First 2K Sports announced MLB Front Office Manager (January 27th for $39.99). Then EA Sports revealed Nasc...
3 on 3 NHL Arcade Revealed
After the success of the New Years Day Winter Classic I proposed that it was time for the return of an arcade style hockey game. 63% of the poll respondents stated that they would possibly be interested in such a title. While this isn't exactly what I had in mind it does come close.
EA Sports is developing 3 on 3 NHL Arcade for the 360 and PS3. The game will be released in February and will be available to download on the Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network. The price has been s...
First Nascar Kart Racing Details
Not long ago I posted about the introduction of Nascar to the Wii. Rather than a sim representation EA Sports decided to go with a Kart theme. While my general feeling that the Wii audience won't be interested in a game with Nascar in the title still stands, we do have some more details on Nascar Kart Racing via ESPN's Jon Robinson which make it sounds as though it could turn out to be a fun game.
So what should you expect? How about Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart dropping oil slicks behind t...
Could NHL 2K Go The Way of College Hoops?
2K Sports has generally supported their more prominent titles with at least a patch and a handful of roster updates throughout the year. NBA 2K9 has already received a significant patch and effort has been made to provide more roster updates than in the past. On the other hand the lesser-regarded 2K titles have gone largely ignored post-release, one recent example being Prizefighter which did not receive a patch.
News comes now that there will be no patch for NHL 2K9 and to date there has...
#10 of 2008: Tiger Woods 09
Tiger Woods 09 delivered a solid all-around experience while enhancing the online enabled aspects of the game. As with many of the other EA Sports titles it attempted to increase its accessibility, here with the addition of Hank Haney assisting with your progression. Ultimately it lands at #10 in my Top Games of 2008 and not any higher because it is golf and there is a limit to how much I can get out of it.
Improvements were made to GamerNet which is an innovative feature introduced in 08...
