Within the last few weeks EA has released another patch for NHL 09 on both the 360 and PS3. This news somewhat slipped by me as I didn't realize just how significant it was until it came up in the recording of a Waiver Wire podcast that will be posted soon. Not only has it resulted in improvements to the game but this was a patch that no one really had any expectations for. When you look at it this is really a terrific gesture by EA. They did not have to do this. The game is six months ol...

EA Sports has finally solidified the release date for Fight Night Round 4. The game will be out on Tuesday June 30th. Interestingly that falls on the birthday of Mike Tyson who is the centerpiece of this game. As expected Tyson and Muhammad Ali share the cover. The release date makes sense in that it falls in between dates for other EA Sports games that were already known. Tiger Woods 10 and Grand Slam Tennis are coming on June 16th and NCAA Football 10 is out July 14th. Update: The re...

An interview on Sporting News brought into question the plans for EA Sports' Nascar branded titles. Since then First Cuts and ESPN have been able to confirm that there will be no Nascar 10 released. The only Nascar branded game this year will have been Nascar Kart Racing for the Wii. NASCAR Kart Racing on the Wii is the only NASCAR-licensed videogame that will ship this year from EA SPORTS. Due to the family-friendly atmosphere of NASCAR, we felt that a title developed exclusively for the W...

The day has arrived with numerous website representatives in attendance at the EA Canada studio in Burnaby BC for the Fight Night Round 4 Community Event. Throughout the day I'll be updating this posting with the latest links to content or any information coming directly out of the event. Given that the game is still 4+ months out from release we won't be seeing gameplay footage and the details the group will be able to share may be pretty limited. However EA is attempting to provide by f...

Through an email laying out the plans for an upcoming media event EA has confirmed that both Tiger Woods 10 and their soon to be officially named tennis franchise will be utilizing the Wii Motion Plus. These are the two games that certainly seem most fitting for the 1:1 technology that will come with Motion Plus. The accessory attaches to the bottom of the Wiimote to capture a greater level of movement precision. Even without the upgrade Tiger has been by far the most successful title for...
