Even with everyone knowing a World Cup game was on the way, including the release date of April 27th,  it wasn't until today that 2010 FIFA World Cup was made official by EA Sports. The game will include all 199 countries that competed in the World Cup qualification stage and will be coming to the 360 and PS3. A new feature for the game will be an authentic World Cup online tournament mode. Take a team and try to get them through the group stage and knockout rounds all the way to win the...

After two months of speculation today EA Sports officially announced Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. This comes as somewhat of a surprise as indications were at least that considerations were being made otherwise. From the beginning the biggest concern has been that the Tiger franchise sells the most on the family friendly Wii. As such it will be interesting to see how the game fares this year compared to last. This news comes just days after Tiger Woods checked into a sex rehab clinic. Several co...

Last week EA Sports announced they would be going forward with Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online. However the wording associated with that was specifically tailored so as to leave the door open for making a change to the standard yearly console versions of the game. The internal discussion appears to still be ongoing as a third party survey has surfaced that asks two questions related to the situation. EA has had the luxury of not needing to rush to a decision given that the Tiger games don't rel...
  • Madden 10 Wins Poll as Favorite Game of 2009

Over the last two weeks votes have been coming in for the sports game that was most enjoyed in 2009. Over 5300 total votes had been cast at the time of publishing this article. That represents a significant number from a large cross-section of gamers and as such is a good indicator of general sentiment towards the titles. While UFC 2009 Undisputed topped my list it was Madden 10 that dominated the polling as the game that the most people considered their favorite of the year. (more…...
  • New EA Sports Game May Be NBA Jam

After a few weeks of speculation and discovery of a possible NFL Trainer game now there is another entry to consider for the new game to be announced by EA this month. ESPN reports the game in question will be an updated version of NBA Jam for the Wii. This is especially surprising given that NBA Jam was made by Midway before passing to Acclaim meaning EA would have purchased the rights to the franchise. Just as with the NFL Trainer game this probably won't elicit much excitement given that...

Ever since the news and compounding fallout surrounding Tiger Woods emerged one major focus of attention has been on his endorsements. Several companies have already dropped him or at the least been distancing themselves from him. EA originally was very supportive but that was before a lot of the details were found out. More recently they have wavered a bit in support though still definitive in that they had not made any decisions to make a change. That may all be about to change. EA will b...

Back in October NFL jerseys arrived for Xbox 360 avatars. Now NBA and NCAA Football jerseys have joined them in the marketplace. Interestingly in the competitive NBA arena both companies have released similar content. EA Sports has out jerseys for 41 college teams and a generic jersey for each NBA team. 2K Sports has released a jersey for every NBA team which include a number representing a player from each (no name on the back). General response to the NFL jerseys were that they were overp...
