Anyone Pick Up Playstation Move?
So Playstation Move launched today for the PS3 to what seems to be very little fanfare. The launch lineup is weak and the general perception seems to be that it is basically just Wii HD. The costs also are high when considering most people will feel the need to buy multiple devices in order to take full advantage of the system.
Tiger Woods 11 on the PS3 has Move functionality patched in and next month's John Daly's Prostroke Golf will include it as well. NBA 2K11 tacks on Move for the black...

Your Thoughts on NHL 11
NHL 11 arrived in stores today boasting real-time physics, the addition of the CHL, and the new Ultimate Team Hockey League mode. Early reviews have been expectantly positive, though the prevalence of pay-for-boosts and issues with Be a GM mode are notable. If you picked up the game feel free to leave your early impressions in the comments!...
THQ Tired of Being “Cheated”
Last week we got news that THQ was expanding its version of the "online pass" from its original debut in UFC Undisputed 2010 to the next release from the company WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011. Their games going forward will come with the one-time-use code to access online functionality and for those who don't buy the game new they'll be stuck paying $10 to reach the online features.
This "online pass" tactic appears as though it will be the standard in the future with EA Sports already using it...
THQ Expands “Online Pass” To SvR 2011
WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 will ship with a one-time-use code to access online play functionality. The "Online Pass" style program, which THQ has not given their own name to, debuted with UFC Undisputed 2010. However now the company has raised the cost of purchasing access to $10 for those who end up with used copies and there will now be a trial period available. For UFC 2010 it was $5 and no option for a trial period was provided.
THQ faced serious heat over the level of communication and ...
FIFA 11: Goalkeeping in OTP and Demo News
Today EA Sports announced that Online Team Play in FIFA 11 will expand beyond the 10v10 that had been featured previously to now a full 11v11 by including goalkeepers amongst the user controlled players. "Be a Goalkeeper" as it is being called will also be available in career mode.
Be A Goalkeeper is a completely new way to play—instead of thinking as a player out in the middle of the pitch, you have to think and react as the goalkeeper. Experience the thrill of the one o...

The demo includes two different modes in similar fashion to what was provided last year. This time in place of a trial run in Be a Pro there is the opportunity to try out the new Ultimate Team Hockey League. There is also the ability to play a standard game with Philadelphia @ Chicago in the third period of the seventh game of the NHL ...
Visual Concepts Lays Off 20% of Staff
News has hit today that 30+ employees have been laid off from the Visual Concepts (2K Sports) studio. VC currently develops the NBA 2K, MLB 2K, and NHL 2K franchises. Cutting 30 employees is a very significant number for a studio that isn't all that big to begin with (recently was estimated to have 150 in total). Over the years the studio has also been responsible for series including NFL 2K/All-Pro Football 2K8 and College Hoops 2K.
This is purely speculation on my part, but based on t...
