This summer EA Sports officially unveiled their long rumored fitness game featuring the NFL. Known as EA Sports Active NFL Training Camp it is slated to release for the Wii on November 16th. Since that initial announcement there have been little info or promotion on the game but a feature list and trailer recently arrived. For now NFL Training Camp is exclusive to the Wii. Considering the 360 and PS3 have their own motion based systems now with Kinect and Move it would seem likely that it w...

September was big for EA Sports as their three most recent games finished in the top five in sales for the month. Unfortunately NPD has decided to no longer provide the actual sales numbers for consoles or individual titles instead leaving that to the manufacturers and publishers which is a little disconcerting. Madden 11 finished in second (behind only Halo: Reach and in front of Dead Rising 2) while NHL 11 came in 4th and FIFA 11 landed in 5th. The results are especially impressive for NH...

Though the political teams in NBA Jam were unveiled it was the way to unlock them, as well as other secret teams, that was not immediately evident. Yesterday I posted the unlock code for the SportsNation team but there are several more that have already been discovered for the Wii version of the game. Kotaku has pictures that include the ratings to check out in addition to the info on how to use the teams which follows. (more…)...

EA Sports has released details on some of the areas that are receiving attention in FIFA 11 for upcoming server updates or patches. This list does not account for everything that the potential patch could include but it seems they wanted to keep the lines of communication open and show they are being responsive to consumer feedback. • FIFA 11 Becomes Fastest Selling Sports Game in History

    Posted October 5th, 2010 at 12:07 pm 20 Comments »
EA Sports has announced that worldwide sales of FIFA 11 have hit 2.6 million through October 2nd. Those figures include six days at retail in the US and only two days out in Europe. FIFA 11 is now the fastest selling sports game ever, topping FIFA 10 which broke the record last year with 1.7 million in its first week. This really goes to show the remarkable draw of soccer games in other regions and the increasing interest domestically. Consider that 2010 FIFA World Cup released just five mo...

Recently THQ presented a new game pricing model to investors that they will be trying out initially with their next MX series off-road racing game in 2011. How the experiment fares could determine whether they expand it to other titles as well as influence other companies considering taking the same route in the future. The idea is to release the game at a lower price point and rely heavily on downloadable content. (more…)...
  • FIFA 11 Experiencing Online Pass Trouble

An issue relating to the redemption of "Online Pass" codes for the Xbox 360 version of FIFA 11 has struck on release day of the game. I received numerous emails and tweets, verified by several postings on the FIFA 11 forums, that some users in the US are experiencing an inability to redeem the code. Those consumers are receiving a message that the code is invalid or has already been used once having input it for the first time. EA Sports has now released a statement that they are working wi...

EA Sports was the first to introduce the "Online Pass", a one-time-use code included in new copies of games granting online functionality leaving those who buy the game used to pay for online access. THQ rolled out their own program, Sony was next in line to support it, and other companies such as Activision and Ubisoft have expressed a desire to do the same. Take Two has now revealed plans to institute their own version of an "Online Pass", which means expect it to be a part of all 2K Spor...
