    Over the weekend some of the gameplay related fixes and improvements for the NHL 11 patch were laid out. Now EA Sports has released a full comprehensive list of everything that the patch will be influencing. That includes in areas such as online play, Be a GM mode, Hockey Ultimate Team mode, and more.     EA Sports is going through a restructuring that has resulted in the elimination of the general manager position at both EA Canada and Tiburon studios. Philip Holt (Tiburon) is remaining with the company but in a different role while Moira Dang (EA Canada) has moved on. It is unknown how much of a role the debacle that was NBA Elite 11 had in the decision to reorganize the company but it certainly seems to have played a part.     In my initial impressions of Kinect for Xbox 360 I noted that despite how capable the hardware was ultimately it would be the software that makes the experience worthwhile or not. Of all the Kinect games I've played so far I've only been let down by one and that is MotionSports from Ubisoft. (more…)...

    A patch for NHL 11 is nearing release for the 360 and PS3 and could make their way out as early as this coming week. Continue on for a list of details for the patch focusing on the gameplay improvements and some other fixes.     Only one day in with Kinect and it has been a surprisingly enjoyable experience. This comes from someone who has not bought into the concept of motion-based gaming previously. The question certainly remains whether it will have the desired replayability factor but I'm confident enough at this point to have decided to sell my Wii. I've kept that console around just in case a compelling game comes along but having Kinect makes it feel unnecessary and obsolete. (more…)...

    Nearly two months after release and NHL 11 has received its first roster update. It includes the addition of about 600 players within the 10 different leagues that NHL 11 carries and also updates goalie equipment. Despite the arrival of the roster update the NHL community is up in arms over what has been provided and issues it has created.     Kinect for Xbox 360 arrives on Thursday and today the system dashboard updated in preparation for the launch. Kinect is the camera-based peripheral that provides controller free gaming using only the gestures and movements of the body. Beyond gaming it also allows for movement through the dashboard (think Minority Report) and video chatting.     The Ultimate Team mode has leaked into several EA Sports games but it originated with the FIFA franchise. Beginning today anyone who played FIFA Ultimate Team in either FIFA 09 or FIFA 10 will have access to begin building their teams through a new website. The site includes the ability to manage teams and even utilize the auction house. Daily gifts will be given between now and November 3rd just for logging in.
