The always funny Onion News (if you're not watching SportsDome on Comedy Central you're missing out) takes a look at Madden 12 and its new feature that will bring the realism of concussions to your living room. The new device will "simulate Sunday's biggest hits by firing pistons directly into players' skulls". This is great but c'mon Onion, wired controllers? This is what Kinect was created for! ...

Two more additions to the roster of the upcoming arcade fighter WWE All-Stars were revealed today. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has been added to the Legends side while CM Punk finds himself with the group of active wrestlers. Stone Cold always appeared to be a must-have for the game and CM Punk's stature within WWE made him an obvious choice as well. The demo for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters is slated to arrive Tuesday March 8th for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. The news comes in an article from USA Today which also goes into further detail on what the demo will entail. The first five holes at one of the new courses in the game (TPC San Antonio Oaks) will be playable in the demo. Interestingly the demo also carries an incentive as those who complete it will be able to skip the Amateur Tour in "Road to the Masters" mode. Instead tho...

The "Champion" story mode in Fight Night Champion is getting a great deal of exposure in the build-up to the game's release, with EA Sports going as far as to tout how it was crafted by Academy Award nominated screenwriter Will Rokos. ESPN's Jon Robinson has offered some independent perspective on what to expect however by tweeting that the mode will last just 4-8 hours depending on individual skill level. One would think a story mode in a sim boxing game would be artificially extended by t...

Madden is set to be a launch title for the Nintendo 3DS as it hits stores on March 27th. Unfortunately it appears the game is being rushed, and despite some positive impressions and what at first glance would seem to be a solid feature set it is missing one critical component that could very well sway purchase decisions. Joystiq reports that Madden 3DS will not have any type of mulitplayer support. That is a huge disappointment to say the least. The system not only offers multiplayer gam...

Slaughter, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper for the Legends. Edge, Jack Swagger, and Kane join the side of those currently active in the WWE. A real breakthrough for sports gaming occurred when EA Sports provided the demo for Fight Night Champion a month in advance of release while including a limited period of online play activity. The demo became more than a trial and akin to a beta. The online play was originally announced to be available for a two week period but was extended a few days longer. The head-to-head online play is scheduled to be shut off at 7pm ET/4pm PT on Thursday February 17th. Certainly we've already seen som...
