    Last week EA Sports released Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters for PC and Mac. It wasn't long before consumers started expressing anger over the state of the game which launched with a $40 sticker price. It appears to have largely been a port - at least in terms of assets as the graphics are shockingly weak even on max settings - of the browser-based Tiger Woods Online with advertised features that as it turns out were non-existent.  (more…)...

    The demo for FIFA 12 has arrived for the Xbox 360 (queue up the download early here) and will be out on the PS3 later this afternoon with the weekly PSN update. Featuring six different teams with three minute halves it comes in at 1.42 GB. As always leave your thoughts based on play-time with the demo in the comments!...

    While the well-publicized lawsuit against EA Sports, the NCAA, and the Collegiate Licensing Company steams towards a trial set to begin in March 2013 (see the details on that here) a ruling has come down that offers insight into the legalities and could even have a greater impact.     First introduced by EA Sports in 2010 the 'Online Pass' has since spread to be used by several prominent companies - if not already considered the norm in the industry it will be in the near future. The idea behind the program is to insert one-use codes in retail copies of games that provide access to online functionality while leaving those who purchase the game used to pay a fee of $10.     For those who have already purchased the EA Sports 'Season Ticket' or choose to do so now - the download of NHL 12 for the Xbox 360 has been made available and as of Friday afternoon it is out for the PS3 as well. The 'Season Ticket' costs $25 and runs for a period of one year - providing three day early access to (and a 20% DLC discount for) Madden NFL, NHL, FIFA, FIFA Street, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, and NCAA Football.     The complete team ratings for NHL 12 have come via an Operation Sports video. Offense, defense, and goalkeeping ratings are on display and provide a look not just at top line performers but how each team shapes up depth wise.     Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters releases today in stores and on EA's Origin.com for the PC and Mac - going for $39.99.
