The demo for Grand Slam Tennis 2 may have been pulled from the Xbox Live Marketplace after only a few hours (apparently a miscommunication led to the early release and it'll be back out in mid/late January) but plenty of people were able to grab it when it was available which means a number of videos have been appearing since. It'll take some time to get used to the (right stick) 'Total Racquet Control' so keep in mind that those playing are inexperienced with the game. Continue on to che...

When EA Sports today announced that Grand Slam Tennis 2 would release on February 14 there was little question that at least one game would be moving off what had become an ultra-competitive date. The obvious candidate was SSX given the unlikelihood that the company would release their own two products against each other. That has materialized as SSX shifts back two weeks and will now come out on February 28. To soften the blow EA has also provided a new gameplay trailer for SSX which can...

The NHL series has been one of the most steady sports offerings over the last several years. EA Sports innovated and delivered vast improvements earlier this console generation but has started to come under increased scrutiny for lack of advancement the past few years. While it didn't completely break out of that growing perception NHL 12 delivered enough improvements to keep the majority pleased at least for one more year. (more…)...

The demo for Grand Slam Tennis 2 has arrived on the Xbox 360 and is expected later today for the PS3. It provides the opportunity to play a three game set at Wimbledon between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. EA Sports also announced the cover will feature the trio of John McEnroe, Djokovic, and Maria Sharapova and the game will hit stores on February 14. That means the company is releasing two of its own titles on the same day (SSX being the other) which is unusual in itself but the choi...

  • #9 of 2011: Fight Night Champion

EA Sports took a risk with Fight Night Champion making it their first ever M-rated title. In a sense they had to do something creative as boxing games simply haven't been reaching the wide audience that they used to. The 'Champion' story mode was definitely intriguing but short - while other critical areas of the game ultimately failed to impress.  (more…)...

A sleeper of an arcade-style game tends to sneak its way into the top 10 countdown each year. This time around that game is MLB Bobblehead Pros. As a downloadable title for $10 it arrived on XBLA in early July and was supposedly on the way for the PS3 also but that, for whatever reason, never materialized. Instead MLB Bobblehead Pros makes the list for arguably being the best playing baseball game available on the 360 in 2011.  (more…)...
