In an update for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 that will arrive on Friday EA Sports will be delivering the more traditional way to swing with Kinect for Xbox 360. Tiger 13 originally chose to go with a parallel stance to the TV rather than facing it directly while swinging - which in theory was to better capture the full body in the process. The patch will allow users to swing either way on the two lower difficulty levels whether standing to the side or swinging directly towards the screen. Kotaku...

  • Tiger Woods DLC Practices Proving Costly

Often it takes more than consumer frustration for companies to take note that actions being taking are having an adverse effect on perception and ultimately sales. They may recognize declines but then not attribute it to the right factors. A recent example of that is NBA Live 10 which was a quality effort yet EA Sports attempted to completely reboot the series having completely misjudged the market which led to disastrous results. Sales weren't poor with Live 10 because of the response to th...
  • SSX Price Keeps Plummeting
    by
    Posted April 3rd, 2012 at 11:30 am 8 Comments »
SSX has barely been out a month and it's already been halved in price. Amazon (Xbox 360 - PS3) and Best Buy have already dropped the game to $30. It's a fantastic deal for a very good game but does not bode well for the future of the series. SSX has undoubtedly failed to gain traction at retail and follows in what has become a long line of arcade-style titles that have struggled to justify their development this generation. It's hard to imagine a scenario in which a sequel comes about ...
  • Reaction to UEFA Becoming FIFA 12 DLC Overwhelmingly Positive

One of the more interesting developments so far this year is EA Sports taking what was a full retail release every four years in UEFA EURO and making it downloadable content for the latest FIFA. At $20 the add-on is immediately more appealing than spending $60 for a full game but as DLC will offer less in the way of content and none of the gameplay improvements that normally would have resided in the product. Based on the results of the poll that went up late last week EA Sports made a de...

Almost all of the sports titles to come out so far this year - UFC Undisputed 3, SSX, Grand Slam Tennis 2, and MLB 2K12 - have found themselves being offered at a discounted price at various retailers just weeks, and sometimes only days, after they released. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 hit stores last week and already Amazon, Best Buy, and Gamestop have dropped the price on the standard versions as well as the Collector's Editions. Amazon has both standard versions (360 - PS3) for $50 and the...
