Online Seasons Coming to EASHL in NHL 14
In a blog post this week EA Sports revealed online improvements being made for NHL 14. New will be the Online Seasons mode that has been successful in other titles and will be integrated here in EA Sports Hockey League. Just like the real NHL, teams will get points for playing through each game. WWE 2K14 Collector’s Edition Set Honors Undertaker
Details have now rolled out on what will make up the special edition of WWE 2K14. Major Defense for EA in Likeness Suit Struck Down by Appeals Court
A federal appeals court turned in a split decision today overruling the argument by Electronic Arts that the First Amendment gave them protection as free expression and artistic works in the representation of players in college video games. The 2-1 ruling prevents the company from using the First Amendment as a defense against collegiate athletes who feel their likeness has been misused but it does not represent closure on the subject by any means. (more…)...

Sports Gaming Community Trending Sharply Towards PlayStation 4
The results of the poll posted last week show the PlayStation 4 dominating the Xbox One as it relates to purchase plans from the sports gaming community. The split likely would have been even greater had Microsoft not reversed course on the restrictive DRM policies they planned to enact on the system but the gap is still pronounced. (more…)...

EA Seeks Dismissal from Likeness Lawsuit
In a filing today Electronic Arts is seeking dismissal following the latest amended complaint in the player likeness lawsuit against the company, NCAA, and CLC. During the class action certification hearing EA and the CLC both threw the NCAA under the bus saying they shouldn't be held liable given that they were just following the NCAA's rules. NHL 14 to Offer Dynamic Ratings and Improvements to True Performance Skating
Late last week EA Sports released blogs on two features relating to NHL 14. The first deals with "Dynamic Ratings Updates" which aims to deliver more consistency and relevancy to an area that has been a weakness of the series. EA Will Announce More News On Easing The Console Transition in August
Earlier this week EA Sports announced that Ultimate Team content will transfer or mirror from the current generation versions of Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14 to their next-gen versions. With Madden items and currency will be moved and for FIFA they'll actually share the same team-building universe.
