    EA Sports has announced details on the NHL 14 demo. Set to arrive next Tuesday the demo will feature a rematch of the Stanley Cup Finals (though limited to the third period), the ability to try out the NHL 94 mode which delivers the presentation and effects over top current day gameplay, and the opportunity to start up Hockey Ultimate Team.     Gamestop announced yesterday an exclusive trade-in program for select games that will release first on the Xbox 360 and later on the Xbox One. Consumers will receive a $50 credit when bringing in a current generation title to put towards its next-gen counterpart.  (more…)...

    Last month the NCAA announced they would no longer provide a license for sports video games. The decision offered them distance from potential future claims regarding misuse of likenesses in games but will not help in the potentially monumental case brought by current and past players.     Be a Pro mode is evolving into Live the Life for NHL 14. Where EA Sports' career modes have faltered most in recent years has been failing to represent a player's dealings away from the ice or field.   • NCAA Looks Even Worse Today Regarding Misappropriated Use of Likenesses

    The continued hypocrisy of the NCAA shone through today as Jay Bilas exposed on Twitter how names are linked to jerseys at the official NCAA shop. Players can't profit off their own names but the NCAA sure does and it couldn't have been made any clearer. Searching the names of both current and former players returned results with the jersey number they wear/wore on apparel.
