    The polls posted a few days ago to gauge how consumers are now approaching the upcoming next-gen sports games shows that each of them are in a completely unique place. NBA 2K14 looks to be the most anticipated even though nothing is known about it, FIFA 14 carries strong support for the transition, Madden NFL 25 has stumbled as of late, and NBA Live 14 remains a product yet to provide any reason for consumers to consider it.  (more…)...

    With the current generation essentially now having come to a close for sports titles - there will still be releases on the 360 and PS3 for years but they'll no longer be of primary development focus - it allows for an opportunity to look back on it as a whole before next-gen gets here in November.   • Second FIFA 14 Patch Coming This Week

    Another patch for FIFA 14 is expected to arrive this week for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 and is already available on the PC. Unlike the first, which was limited to fixing a few issues identified prior to the game releasing, this update takes into consideration consumer feedback since then.   • First Patch Out Now for FIFA 14

    EA Sports released a relatively minor patch today for FIFA 14 that addresses some general stability issues and delivers a few fixes to game modes including the Skill Games and Creation Centre. Those items were identified early on allowing them to be included in a patch made available just a day after the game came out. Work continues on other areas including gameplay for the next patch.   • FIFA 14 Now Available to Download for Season Ticket Subscribers

    Subscribers to the EA Sports Season Ticket program can now access the early release digital download of FIFA 14 on both the Xbox 360 and PS3. The digital copy of FIFA 14 will expire early Tuesday (6am ET) after which a retail or digital copy will have to be purchased to continue playing. All game saves and achievements will transfer over. The Season Ticket costs $25 and runs for a period of one year – providing over three days of early access and a 20% discount on any DLC purcha...

    Executive vice president of EA Sports Andrew Wilson has been elevated to CEO of Electronic Arts. Former chairman and CEO Larry Probst had been holding the position on an interim basis since John Riccitiello resigned in March. Wilson outlined three areas he will be focusing on: 1.     Electronic Arts has made official the release dates for three of their upcoming games on the Xbox One and PS4. Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, and Battlefield 4 will be out on November 12 for the PS4 and November 19 for the Xbox One.  (more…)...
