A new addition to the NHL 15 website is pointing towards December 8th as a significant date for the series when a 'new era' will supposedly begin. Below the tagline is a mention to follow the NHL Twitter account for HUT news but that's the extent of things. That could be a hint at the area of the game that will be affected but it's hard to believe a "new era" would describe something related to a single mode. However this is EA and all they seem to care about now is Ultimate Team so it ca...

If you're a fan of hyperbole, hold on to your seats, because it's "the greatest day in EA Sports NHL history" as one producer on the franchise exclaimed via Twitter. The update promised back when consumers discovered how many features were missing from NHL 15 - with long-awaited comment came a commitment to extensive post-release support - arrived today and apparently EA is super proud of themselves for it. The patch delivers basic Online Team Play (only NHL players, lacking the abi...

Just over a week ago the first patch for NHL 15 arrived and delivered with it some anticipated content that had been absent at release. Another patch dropped today on Xbox One and PS4 that is more traditional in nature as it affects gameplay, Ultimate Team, and presentation elements. It's not the promised October update that will add basic Online Team Play and the Draft to Be a GM mode - that's expected to be out mid-late this month.  (more…)...

When it was discovered just how much was missing from the Xbox One and PS4 version of NHL 15 EA Sports attempted to soften the blowback by laying out a plan to add in some features in the months ahead. The first of those features have made it in through a patch today. Playoff Mode Play an offline bracket tournament with up to 16 teams. Use the teams from the NHL or create your own tournament tree by selecting teams from up to 12 different leagues. Play or simulate each game and track ...

No, it's not making a comeback to battle EA Sports' NHL series, but NHL 2K has been resurrected to land on mobile devices this fall. The game is being developed in partnership between Virtuos Games and Visual Concepts which is the same arrangement that produces NBA 2K on mobile. It will be available for iOS and Android devices. What you see now for mobile games is primarily free-to-play, but NHL 2K (also like NBA 2K) will sell for $8 instead. Modes include MyCareer, Winter Classic, 3-o...

EA Sports has now responded to the wave of criticism regarding missing modes and features in NHL 15. When the news was confirmed about EASHL and GM Connected being gone in the Xbox One and PS4 version fans of those modes were turned off from the product while others may have felt unaffected. Unfortunately that was only the start of what had been stripped out and there would be no getting around the lack of content and options by anyone. The company plans to patch in a few of the missing f...
