E3 2009 Nearly Here
I'm now preparing to head out to LA for E3 early in the morning. While the actual event begins on Tuesday there is a ton of gaming news expected to start flowing out on Monday. That includes the EA Press Conference scheduled to begin at 2pt/5et.
I'll be in attendance and, connection permitting, will be live blogging here on the site and live tweeting. You can also follow along live with the free streaming video. This press conference is where multiple announcements (primarily online relat...
E3 2009 Preview
Next week is going to be huge for the world of gaming. After two years of a lackluster reinvention of E3 it now returns back to the spectacle it was before. Gaming companies are buying back into it with big announcements planned and lots of highly anticipated games on display.
This is definitely the case for EA Sports who will have a significant presence at E3 with seven upcoming titles being offered up. In addition to the games on the floor Peter Moore is expected to reveal the new onlin...
Punch-Out!! Impressions
How many times have we seen this story? The story of a former champ who thinks he has one last title shot in him. A former champ who just doesn’t know when to quit. Rocky, Roberto Duran, Oscar De La Hoya, they’ve all been victims to this sad story. Now after 15 years Nintendo is bringing the former Video Game Champ, Little Mac, out of retirement and back into the ring. And you know what? Little Mac still has some fight left in him.

Looking Ahead to E3
E3 is now just three weeks away! The gaming expo takes place on June 2nd-4th with some conferences (MS/Sony/Nintendo/EA?) happening on the 1st. This E3 is making an attempt to return to the glory days as opposed to the last couple years and the publishers are responding. EA Sports is expected to have some game related announcements including the new online modes for Madden 10 at this E3.
In the days leading up to E3 I'll have more details on what to expect both in terms of the games and c...
Tiger and Grand Slam Releases Pushed Up
Both Wii versions of Tiger Woods 10 and Grand Slam Tennis will now release on Monday June 8th. Previously they were slated to come out on Tuesday June 16th. This release date change is significant because they now come out the same day as the Wii MotionPlus controller add-on. Instead of having no games to utilize M+ with at launch now there are two highly anticipated ones.
There will be a limited run of Tiger Woods 10 bundled with M+ that will go for $59.99. The bundle offers a savings of...
Recent Trailers: NCAA, Madden Wii, Tiger Wii
Everything surrounding the events in New York last week and the subsequent coverage coming out of them caused me to bypass posting up some recent trailers. They include ones for NCAA Football 10, Madden 10 on the Wii, and Tiger Woods 10 on the Wii. For NCAA and Madden they are the debut trailers while the Tiger video shows off the new disc golf mode.
Until recently when the inclusion of disc golf into Tiger was being discussed I had never even heard of it. Apparently it is one of the fast...
EA Sports To Go Digital Delivery Only for PC
In an interview with Edge which can be read here Peter Moore discusses a variety of topics including the PC market. Of note is that they will no longer be producing disc based offerings for the PC.
We really want to keep sports an important part of the portfolio that’s available to PC gamers, but the business model right now, shipping a physical disc for the PC, simply isn’t working for us. And along the context of making the right choices with our resources and making sure th...
EA Contemplating Dedicated MLS Game
An article today discussing the success of the Seattle Sounders and the team's sponsorship with Xbox 360 mentions that EA Sports has been in early talks to create a game for the league. MLS teams have been included in FIFA but they could potentially do a lot more with it as its own dedicated game.
We believe there's a natural connection between our sport and their games, and there have been initial talks, very preliminary, but that's something that both sides will have to look at.
It has bee...
