    NCAA 12 released to generally positive reviews - though the consensus via Metacritic is down a significant four points vs NCAA 11 - and I laid out several issues with the game in my review and the closer analysis on features.     Less than three months ago Electronic Arts was dismissed from the high profile lawsuit brought against them as well as the NCAA and Collegiate Licensing Company. The suit alleges improper use of player likeness through various forms of merchandise and media including video games in which the parties in question conspired to avoid paying players for their rights.     Add another name to the list of big name departures from the EA Sports' Tiburon studio in recent months. Mark Turmell is on his way to Zynga where he will be joining other Tiburon vets such as Phil Frazier, Jeremy Strauser, Steve Chiang, and John Schappert at the social gaming giant.     Sony today confirmed the introduction of their own 'Online Pass' program which appears to be dubbed the 'PSN Pass'. Starting with Resistance 3 in September SCEA's titles will restrict access to online functionality by inserting a one-time use code in copies of their games.     EA Sports has been teasing the development of three new titles but bypassed the chance to make any announcements at E3. That now leads into Electronic Arts' annual 'Summer Showcase' event as the next big opportunity for one or more of those games to be unveiled. The 'Summer Showcase' takes place this coming Thursday and the company has already stated they will be making some big announcements.     Having obtained an internal memo from EA Sports IGN has learned that the company is scouting locations in Austin, Texas for a new studio. Also addressed in the memo is the loss of several developers from the company's Tiburon studio - the news of which was first broken here and has involved the departures of Ian Cummings, Jeremy Strauser, Phil Frazier and several others.
