FIFA License With EA Sports Extended Through 2022
One day after discussing the huge success that has been the FIFA franchise EA Sports has announced an extension to the current licensing agreement with FIFA that will stretch all the way though 2022. EA retains exclusive rights to FIFA branded games and that also includes the World Cup - the next entry of which should release late April or May 2014. FIFA 13 Sets New Sales and Digital Revenue Records; EA Lays Out Release Schedule
The biggest sports video game series in the world is showing no signs of slowing down following several years in a row of breaking its own records. FIFA 13 sold nearly 15 million copies from its release late last September through the end of March. That represents a 30% increase over what FIFA 12 sold over the same period. (more…)...

After Months of Rumors Otherwise Next Xbox Not Expected to Require Online Connection
The most discussed topic relating to the next-generation the last few months has been whether Microsoft would debut a new Xbox that required an online connection at all times to function. Rumors Starting to Make Some Form of EA Exclusivity to Next Xbox Sound Plausible
When the next Xbox is revealed on May 21 could exclusivity of some extent for upcoming EA games be one of the announcements? When the first rumor of such came back at the end of February most were quick to dismiss it. Since then certain developments have started to make it appear as a real possibility to consider. To date EA has avoided aligning future titles with the PS4 while apparently abandoning the Wii U. 2K Won’t Have Presence on E3 Show Floor; Nintendo Skips Press Conference
E3 is now just about six weeks away and companies are beginning to make their plans known. Electronic Arts will be out in full force with the usual press conference on Monday, June 10 at 1PT and on the show floor with sports games including Madden NFL 25, NCAA Football 14, FIFA 14, and NHL 14 (no mention yet of NBA Live 14 or UFC). Two other companies though are approaching things differently this year. 2K Games won't have any presence on the show floor which is a departure from the norm....

Next Xbox Being Revealed May 21; Circumstances Suggest EA Appearance
It came as a surprise that Electronic Arts had no presence at the big PS4 announce event back in February. Not only was there no Madden or FIFA to tout but the company sat it out completely. Spring Sale on Games at Origin
For the next week a number of games are being sold at half off their retail price through EA's Origin store. That even includes Need for Speed: Most Wanted U which released just today making it the steal of the lot. Other games of note coming in at $30 are FIFA 13 and NHL 13 along with Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3. Shipping for physical copies of games through the store is free as long as the order is over $25....
